To be fair, back in the day the PS4 was absolutely declared Portstation. It blew my mind, how games that were just a year or two before released like GTAV, Tomb Raider, TLOU and so on were declared as reasons to get a PS4. A friend of mine literally told me, he rebought a game (I forgot which one) with his new PS4, so that he had to play something at the first time. But as it happened again with Switch I was prepared. And in the meantime I had understood, that such ports can hold great value for buyers and for the library.

Personally, I don't mind at all so long as new games are also released (both Switch and PS4 have a good number of new games). On Switch, I love being able to play games on the go (in fact that is how I mostly play as I do not have as much time as I used to to dedicate to TV, hence why Switch and other portables are quite important to me) so even ports, remakes, and remasters of older games are great additions (particularly since there are many I have missed out on as I did not have time to play them on home consoles). And of course, the PS4, IMO, has one of the best libraries of all time because of great number newer and older titles that are brought back to life with the PS4's stronger hardware.

On topic of the rumor. How does Tales of Vesperia compare to other Tales games? My gold standard is Tales of Symphonia but I also liked Zestiria.

Wouldn't mind double dipping this one for the extra PS3 content, plus finally giving a chance to my Tales of buddies to play it (And gush about Ristelle with Mike).

I hope it's not exclusive to any platform. Was originally released on Xbox, had a release on ps3 and with ps4 being the most successful console it would be dumb not having it there, same with Switch being a huge success, specially in japan

Among my favorite Tales games, I hope more people get to experience after PS3 version stayed in Japan.

Many fans consider Vesperia to either be the best or very close to the best of the series. Personally I think it's one of the best too. If you enjoyed Symphonia then it's pretty similar to that, just a slight evolution along the same lines.

Vesperia is my favorite and one of the 3 in the series to be great imo.

How can you possibly have enjoyed Symphonia AND Zestiria? They are polar opposites in terms of game pace. I just can't tell at all what you apreciate from that, but it's likely you will enjoy Vesperia because it's awesome in the same vein Symphonia and Abyss are. Great pace, story, dungeons and characters with the classic and awesome 2D style trademark combat that made the series a hit. I'm dumbfounded on how you could have enjoyed Zestiria after playing Symphonia. I really am.

Yuri Lowell is one of the best protagonist in JRPG history. This is a remaster I've been waiting on for years.

I personally found Symphonia to be the gold standard and certainly Zestiria did not come close to that (the only Tales game I think that is close Symphonia is Abyss which was also excellent). However, I did like certain elements in Zestiria like how the environments were larger and also being able to battle on the overworld. At the same time I think Zestiria did have a distinct lack of polish and it was quite short (it almost felt rushed, especially towards the end of the game), so while I did enjoy it is certainly not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination.

From the Tales games I have played, these are how I would personally rank them from best to worst but with the caveat that I did enjoy them all:

1. Symphonia

2. Abyss

3. Xillia 

4. Berseria (I have still not finished this one due to time constraints, but I like what I have played of it so far)

5. Zestiria

I should mention I am a tad strange when it comes to stuff like this. For example, when it comes to Paper Mario I found Thousand-Year Door and the N64 one to be the best (and I hope they return to making some more games in the series like that) but I still enjoyed Sticker Star and Color Splash (even though neither is really an RPG anymore; and they are flawed in many ways compared to the first two entries).
