Stagnation?

Batman has been freaking white male ever since he was made. Guess what? Batman comics, movies, merchandise, cartoons, etc. continue to be made. You don't need to change a beloved character to keep him popular.

Just like Lara Croft has been a white British woman ever since she was created. Do you need to make a male version? No! She's fine the way she is! Just like all the characters that people love, they're fine!

So your argument is trash!

Batman is a title, same with Tomb Raider, that's not the same of specific people such as Bruce Wayne and Lara Croft. Since Batman is just a title anyone can inherit/claim/steal/etc. it, same with the Tomb Raider.

Still in decades it didn't need to change to keep relevance.

Um, yeah it does, there's a reason why Tomb Raider has had 2 reboots, because change was needed.

The characters have changed. Bruce Wayne has had different characterizations and the Lara Croft of the recent reboot is different than the earlier versions.

And they didn't change the core of her being a white rich british woman. The reboots made weren't because of the char itself but gameplay, stagnation of the gameplay, multiple bad games in succession, etc.

In any of them did BW stopped being a rich white man that suffered the loss of both parents at young age or LC a rich white british woman that lost the father during teens or early adulthood? They changed very little to both. He said Batman and Tomb Raider are titles and they could be filled by someone not BW or LC, neither happened.

And there we go, you obviously don't know Lara Croft's original backstory because in the original series her parents don't die when she's young, that was added in the reboot.

I guess you are right, I don't remember ever seeing LC parents on the first 2 games of the original series, she was alone with the butler on the manor... and in the 2000 and 2013 reboots she was orphan.

Still white rich british woman (also in neither game she being orphan was much of a starting point for her as char, at most it's used on the Rise to put the stepmother as plot element).

Also the relevant point is that you said Batman and TR are titles that others could inherit... both are still pertaining to same BW and LC.

Her parents disowned her in the original series, as they disapproved of her lifestyle. Again, you're wrong, there have been multiple Batmans, not just Bruce Wayne:

Have you read your own source to see how those were small archs and situations, but none of them truly became batman?

Oh great, now we're going into ways to discredit my evidence because you made a statement about there being no other Batmans despite that not being the case.

Small archs, alternative storylines and other minor deviations hardly sustain as evidence.

This is like saying the Speaker of the House of the Representatives is the president because in some situations with President and Vice-President unavailable he have "the power". Should we also hang his picture on the white house and number him as one president? I'm sure if we were to consider all the ones that temporarily assumed the president position the walls would be unseen due to so many presidential pictures.
