well the good news is that you can try it out for $10 on game pass.
That's very disappointing.
I almost bought the first game several times on Steam but user reviews always made me change my mind. It just seemed to have way too many issues. With the second game, however, I hoped that the influx of money from the first game and Microsoft's support would result in a far more polished and accessible product. Honestly, I don't understand why that would not be the case.
I might check back on it a few months from now to see if it has become a better game. Of course, there was also a lot of controversy with the first game where they repackaged it as a new edition instead of giving the upgrades to the original customers.

It frustrated me mightily to see a flash of a game I wanted to play, only to be immediately reminded that it’s not ready for release. " "it’s true that you can have a lot of fun with this sequel. The problem is that almost all of that fun comes from laughing and pointing at how broken it is." Ouch. Another one that lacked polish before releaseing.... |
Because they don't give a damn
Time wouldn’t matter. Undead Labs games just have jank, like Bethesda games. And like Bethesda games, I don’t mind because the games are so good :)
Seems to me that this is on the developer instead of Microsoft. Undead Labs should of had plenty of money and plenty of time to deliver a superior product.
The only way that I can see this as Microsoft's fault is if they're not giving a good payout to developers for inclusion in that game pass thing. If they're limiting sales potential without a proper financial return then I wouldn't blame a developer for a low budget effort. I have trouble believing that would be the case, however, if Microsoft really wants this strategy to succeed.

I think you're being a bit generous comparing this game to Bethesda games.

The multiplayer is a mess.

That’s ok, you’re allowed to be wrong.
And sorry J but that video is like 75 minutes long, not watching it. I’m sure you have all the negatives memorized and can provide cliff notes.
Nothing i wouldn't expect for a $30 game. 1st game was great considered that was also a buggy mess. If the sequal plays anything like 1st than im in. Glitches and bugs can always be ironed out so thats no issue for me.

Watch the first 2 minuets or so :p
Its not all just State of Decay (in the video, they show multiple games titles), is its really not that much you need to watch.
