Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Perfect Dark was the more complete game but Golden Eye was more original. I always give the nod to the person inventing the wheel over the person making said wheel roll better so, I have to say Golden Eye. It was much more impressive during its respective launch.

Golden Eye one of biggest games back than 90" even compared to PC gaming and was relly great game, Perfect Dark maybe had some things done better than 007 but didnt had nearly same effect and popularity on market.

Golden Eye set the FPS standard for that console generation, no doubt about it.
Perfect Dark took the best of Golden Eye and took it to the next level and refined it.
They even use the same game engine.

To me, Perfect Dark had the better story, had the better multi-player, better graphics, better audio, more weapons, more modes, more everything.
Hard to give Goldeneye the trophy on this one.

It was a massive game.
But we can't ignore the likes of Quake 2 which was pushing the FPS envelope on PC.

I do think Perfect Dark was a missed opportunity in my opinion, it had all the components to be extremely successful... But it seems like Microsoft/Rare squandered the IP.

Perfect Dark is probably the better game overall, but as a massive Bond-fan it is hard to not choose Goldeneye. I had a lot of fun with both though and why i don't think online multiplayer can even compare with being in the same room as the people you are playing with

Perfect Dark has more content than 99% of the games released today. A huge single player campaign, co-op, counter co-op, customizable multiplayer with bots and lots of modes, character creation and stat tracking, mini-games... it was the complete package and with unbelievable graphics and soundtrack at that point, too.

Perfect Dark was the epitome of an AAA game to me. It will probably never be topped in that regard.

Perfect Dark overall is the better game in a straight up comparison although Goldeneye had the bigger impact as it paved the way for console shooters to become viable, at the time fps were seen as mainly a PC affair.

Perfect Dark. More refined, more imaginative, a better story and great world-building for a new IP. Loved the Maian guns in particular.

Maian guns are so cool. I absolutely LOVE the reload animation on the Callisto NTG. So, well, alien :P

Very tough question.

Goldeneye was the original and Perfect Dark was the spiritual successor that improved on it I guess.

Goldeneye still has a more lasting impact so I will give it to that just
