Pretty much makes sense, one side title, one title to bridge the PGO community and rpg Pokemon fans and a main title next year.

Oh okay I was about to say for a mainline that looked disappointing.
The drop in mechanic in LG maybe the first step to solve the problem of how to do a Pokemon game like an MMO.
Really hope they didn't do away with weakening Pokemon before catching them. And I guess it's only through trainer battles that you'd level up? Seems really weird to me.

Well that's because it's a spin-off. I take it this is one of the other games aside from Labo ment to attract new audiences to the system. Let's hope they succeed this time.
So they're spinoffs. Suddenly holding this event at an awkward time with no stream makes a lot more sense :P
