Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your Top 5 RPGs for SNES

1.Final Fantasy VI
2.Chrono Trigger
3.Super Mario RPG

Illusion of Gaia and Zelda would be there, but I'm not sure they should count...
I've also played FFIV, Earthbound, Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore, but don't think any of those would qualify as my favorites.

I make game analyses on youtube:

FFVI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSO6n8kNCwk
Shadow of the Colossus: https://youtu.be/9kDBFGw6SXQ
Silent Hill 2: https://youtu.be/BwISCik3Njc

If you count a SNES game that I played on a PC emulator since it never came to USA.

5. Final Fantasy V

It’s funny that SNES around the world is remembered for it’s RPG’s, but not so much here in Europe, because a lot of the famous ones weren’t released here. We didn’t get Super Mario RPG, Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger, or pretty much any of the ones released in Japan, so I never played them. Recently I started Secret of Mana on my SNES Classic, but I don’t know what to think. The dialogue for one irritates me, it’s too wannabe-cool, and there’s other gameplay aspects I’m not liking. Before that I only played Mystic Quest, because I have that on my real SNES, but that’s not really amazing either, plus the box implies you’re a noob if you play it so that’s not very encouraging either.

That leaves A Link to the Past, which is awesome, but that’s not an RPG.

1. Super Mario RPG
2. Final Fantasy 6
3. Final Fantasy 4
4. Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2)
5. Chrono Trigger

Honorable mentions: Lufia 1+2, Final Fantasy 5, Breath of Fire II.
