Needs a lot of polish, thankfully it's still a while off releasing.

Me too and it'll probably be even better when you're playing. I noticed they removed music much of the time and let the soundscape do the work. That always helps when creating atmosphere.

Yes the setting really does it for me. There are few games that take place in a lush pine forest in a damp environment. Suits the tone of the story.
The one problem I have is the way weather system works. I saw it turn from sunlit to rainy in an instant. That is rather immersion breaking.

I'm sure the whether system will be fine. As far as environments go:
The harsh high-desert of the Pacific Northwest offers a large variety of environments in a single geographical area. One minute Deacon can be riding through a pristine forest, a snow field, a lush meadow, and the next, be in the harsh desert lava fields. The hazardous environments, scarred by millions of years of volcanic activity, are defined by ancient lava flows, mountains, caves, cliffs and river basins, delivering a breathtaking backdrop to an equally diverse style of gameplay. Cinnabar mines, lava tube caves and small rural towns offer a variety of environments to explore.

Hope you're right about the weather. Didn't see the other environments. Sounds cool!

Thats cool !!
Pros: nice graphics, amazing atmosphere and locations, decision making elements and characters (good not great)
Cons: Fade to black screens, running animation, lack of animation when picking things up, the way the things you pick up look, the gunplay (its a bit soft, lacks impact particulary the crossbow), the way it almost looks like he was getting spammed by zombie hugs, dropped frames.
Im actually not concerned about most of that, they have time, bar the gunplay, I was under the impression most teams tweak and refine that early on so im dubious about that getting reworked.
Something to be really concerned about for a change.
