Forums - Sony Discussion - Detroit become human demo impression.

Saved the girl...but at what price?

Had a hard time getting invested since it was just a demo. I'll be more engaged in the actual game. Technically impressive but the novelty of this type of game may finally be wearing thin on me.

Haven't seen the demo (i generally don't). But i do like this game and am excited about it. Tben again i enjoyed Beyond two souls too. 😊

Enjoyed the demo, it did exactly what I thought it would, my daughter on the other hand loved it and did all the endings (which I think is what I'll end up doing to get 100% :D

Cant wait for it, hopefully it strays into the TV show "humans" concepts, already feels like it might.

How long is this demo?

Not very long, probably 10mins (but you can replay to get different endings).

Just played it. Got the best outcome first try, or at least I think it was the best (saved the girl, but had to lie to the Android to do it). It was good, really looking forward to the full game.

Well, I had em at 99% failed to negotiate, he jumped, Conner fell and the hostage was saved. The problem is I missed out on an entire conversation tree because of a binary choice, maybe because I'm not a hostage negotiator IRL,

I hope they don't display the tree info or the replay scene option and I hope there is an option not to save scum this. Either way if binary choices can waste everything you've worked for in one go, doesn't that defeat the point. Even if the info is hidden in the final product, the setup in general is feels off as your choices only matter based on a percentage, I get the HUD and stats are all tied to being an android but at the end of the day, It simply diamonds in and out back to binary choice and the diamonds of choice are only as big as the exploration you put in, I would hope they took a page out of Until dawns book and learned to hide everything, that game was basically all binary decisions with paths that led to dead ends and cut off content but it all felt like every single decision mattered. Here not so much.

I hope I'm wrong and in the greater goal of the game you have less knowledge of your impact on the world as it just makes one want to save scum and go for the better option. I'll constantly be fighting that urge and that'll ruin the game for me.

You can replay scenes at any time in the launch game, already revealed by the devs. Since your 3 playable characters can die in the game, they didn't want people to miss out on large chunks of the game, so they allow you to replay any scenes until you get the ending that you want for a scene. I think the alternate flow chart options will remain hidden until you unlock them by replaying the scene though, same as in the demo.

this demo <3 #love high quality singleplayer-games

The game will make history! This incredible interesting topic in "detroit become human" will also play a big role someday in our world. Stephen Hawking also had many thoughts about that.

I'm looking forward to the story and dialogues, emotions and twists, the gameplay features and possibilities, the psychology and philosophy, the wonderful characters, worlds and soundtracks.

I enjoyed the demo. What stood out to me the most was Reconstruction Mode, as it adds an element of gameplay beyond just "making choices".
I wonder if there are more gameplay mechanics like this that weren't in the previous games? I'd hope so. Because in a game like this, the gameplay aspect can feel lacking in comparison to the story.

I'm not sure I like this being available on your first playthrough. It can take away the sense of consequence for your actions.
I would probably prefer this to be unlocked after you finish the game once. But it's good that this system exists.

Very excited and intrigued. You’re right, it looks truly stunning on base PS4. Loads of possible outcomes so loads of replay value for the whole game, I assume.
Very promising, really.
