Forums - Sales - LABO defeating 'God of War' in Japan

Is Nintendolife is going to do a similar comparison between the two products in the west?

I think reason why they made this is because on every other market GoW is far more popular than Labo currently.

But in any case, it's not big surprise.

A Japanese product selling more in Japan than a game developed by Western studio?

Who’d a thunk it?!

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

What was the best selling gow in Japan first week? 50k?

So the Japanese prefer cute and quirky things to violent realism? Well color ME shocked!

That's based off of amazon and they're comparing a very western mature rated game to a cardboard kid toy/game.

Somehow this idea of comparing LABO (a DIY childrens game) and GoW (a triple A game) started to manifest itself. And now instead of a data-less Gamestop source we have people comparing the two in Japan. This is getting ridiculous. Both these games are totally different in who it is aimed at and what they actually are.

Oh and all of the above regarding western games in Japan. I agree.

Wow, so a Western aimed game from a franchise where the top seller is 120k in Japan isn't selling well there? Shocking!

How did this end up as a thread? how? How? HOW?

This is actually not that surprising Switch has sold almost as much as PS4 in Japan and god of war has never done that well there. What is surprising is how well Labo is doing. 3 kits in the top 6.
