We don't want him starving from a vegan diet =p

Exactly, I did say a bit of everything, now he has meat and veggies on his plate, even a bit of cheese for that dairy goodness!

VGC moderators, so considerated about users health =]

Only B12 on that list is an essential dietary nutrient; your body can synthesize what it needs from other food sources. B12 is also NOT produced by animals, it is produced by bacteria - animals get from the vegetation they ingest, or supplements (in the case of factory farms)

And Vitamin D3 is supplemented in dairy, so that doesn't really count. The majority of people (70% of Americans) are vitamin D deficient; it's largely due to low sun exposure... Basically, if you live in a place like Germany, you NEED vitamin D supplements, regardless of your diet because we only see the sun about 25 times a year =P

That really depends on what you mean by essential. Do you want to just survive or survive and be healthy. If surviving is your goal with no further thought to diet than that then there's no point in discussing this.

Non-essential as in you can be healthy without eating meat to get them.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Do yourself a favor and look it up. I'm not gonna treat ya like a six year old and explain common sense information to you.

Every single macro or micro nutrient can be found in high concentration in some plant matter... It's a pain, but there's absolutely no scientific reason why you couldn't balance a diet off of plant matter.

That's a load of fud. Any kid's school book on health and the nutritional needs of humans says that you're wrong as a flat earther. Humans can only get B12 from animal products naturally and from supplements/injections artificially if you don't eat animal products.

People say "just eat a balanced diet" like it's no biggie. *Actually* eating a healthy and balanced diet is time consuming and requires a lot of change and effort for most people, regardless of if you do it with or without meat.

I'm not a vegan, and I don't intend to become one either, but I'm guessing a lot of the people saying "just eat balanced" would benefit a lot from rebalancing more in favour of veggies and less meat.

Also jesus christ, the anti-vegan chestbeaters are becoming worse than actual vegans. Just live and let live people. I'm all for making fun of PETA though. Do that instead.

Now now, you sound like someone who hasn't eaten a good steak in a while. People who deprive themselves of meat are like people who don't own Nintendo consoles: They are missing out on the best things.

I actually haven't had a good steak in a while. I've gotta do something about that.

That's not how it works, if you make a claim you should be expected to be able to back it up.

It's what you learn in school. I shouldn't have to source common sense information and what 's accepted as fact by everyone except vegans. They're the ones saying that what's accepted as fact isn't true. They're the flat earthers of diets. When their health eventually starts to turn to shit, they'll go to their doctors and he do blood work on 'em. When the doc gets the results, he'll tell the disillusioned vegans that they are severely deficient in certain vitamins and minerals then he'll tell them they have to eat meat or they'll suffer from organ damage, etc. Veganism is not healthy. It's a moronic diet that denies the actual nutritional needs of the human body.

You should have to source a claim if you make a claim. If it's so easy and common sense you should have no trouble finding a source.

I'm not making a claim. I'm restating facts that anyone should know.

Again, if they're facts that are so easy to verify you should be able to provide them, the burden of proof is on you if you bring it up.

Again, it's accepted facts that are taught to everyone. You should know it. There's no reason to source common sense.
