What do i think ? i think Ubisoft is crap and they have been since 2008. Every game from them is boring and mediocre.

I like the Splinter Cell games, and I actually enjoyed Watch Dogs myself.

yeah i enjoyed watchdogs too, its a shame that ubisoft made poor decision of showing the gameplay with those sky high leveled of graphics, made it an instant punching bag, but overall its a good game.. also some assassins creed games are good

There have been videos made like this on every Far cry since Far Cry 2. Details like being able to destroy small trees with bullets, realistic fire spreading, realistic foliage physics, etc. were all toned back considerably in Far Cry 3 to allow for better graphics, and Ubisoft has never brought them back. Maybe next gen, alot of that stuff like physics is heavily CPU dependent and the current consoles have pathetic CPU's, maybe we'll get them back next gen once the consoles have Zen CPU's.

I hope that devs start putting more focus on physics and AI next gen, because I don't want another ride of slightly prettier scenes (while other scenes are toned down visually, because not all devs make every single piece looking pretty) and dumb AI, while lacking any physics.

The mid 2000's was all about creating impressive engines that in some ways wouldn't be matched for a long time.

Personally I've wanted to buy Far Cry 2 for a while because it's kind of the awkward middle child, you always hear about how weird the first game is and how great 3 is and how repetitive 4 onwards is but 2 is rarely talked about. It looks a lot more realistic which is really appealing, but people seem to think it's kind of mediocre.

Anyways, there's some important context that is always taken out of most of Crowbcat's videos :

Well, if we really are getting both next gen consoles by 2020, I think the best we can hope for is 10-12 tflop, less if one of them releases in 2019. With the push for native 4k gaming on consoles, 4k will steal away most of that extra graphics power, not leaving alot extra for pushing things like textures, lighting, depth of field, character polygon counts, level of detail distance, etc. Should mean that the devs will need to utilize the huge increase in CPU power from Jaguar to Zen in order to differentiate next gen games from current gen games. Hopefully we'll see big increases in CPU dependent things like large AI crowds and realistic physics. I want to see things like the wind-blow trees and litter from the Watch Dogs reveal that got cut from the game on release due to how how weak Jaguar is. I want those huge AI crowds like we saw in AC Unity which got cut from subsequent AC games because Jaguar couldn't handle it. I want to see more games like Horizon where characters leave tracks in snow. I want to see foliage that reacts as characters move though it. I want to see sand dunes that realistically shift over the course of a game. I want to see games with heavily destructible environments.

We do have few games putting focus on physics and mechanics related to it, like Zelda for example, with it's items and how said items can affect the world (like setting a forest on fire, grass reacting to your footsteps, grass being cut, chopping down trees, arrows on fire being put out the moment they touch water etc).

We also have Conan Exiles, which has some nice Nvidia tech, with the sand in that game reacting a lot like real sand, where you sift your feet through it, as well as seeing the sand sift around a captive you drag through the desert.

Then of course there's this:

5 is easily one of the laziest Far Cry's and game ever from ubisoft

They're not trying to impress anyone with Farcry 5 or make these small immersive details to draw players into the world because it's a design by committee open world game of an old established franchise.

All of Ubisoft game are very similar to each other and they're designed to be a disposable products. That doesn't necessarily mean they're bad or the old Ubisoft games like Farcry 2 are better. There's just no passion behind their games anymore and non of them having any lasting impact.

Sadly, most people don't read the descriptions.

Translation: I will always hate Fox for canceling The Exorcist.

Far Cry 5 is a much better game and I hate click-bait headlines like this.

we need Far Cry 2 Remastered

Some of the mechanics are undeniably superior in Far Cry 2 like the destruction physics but having Malaria wasn't very fun and gun jamming is absolute BS since military grade weapons hardly have feeding failures when there is usually good quality ammunition and magazines featured with it ...
