If Red Dead didn't cause a big boost for PS4 than what do you guys think the reasoning is? Could it be that Spider Man & Red Dead were attracting a similar audience and a lot of the people who were going to buy a PS4 for RDR ended up getting one a month early for Spidey?

I think the XBO being better value took the spotlight.

Red Dead did boost PS4. Its just that we could not really see it since the pre order was averaged into the daily sales.

1792 is a lot of points.

You have a point but I meant more like a sizable YoY increase like in April or September when PS4 was up ~120k YoY thanks to God of War & Spider-Man.

Now obviously this tool isn't good for predicting actual numbers, just ranking and ratios, but if PS4 is up YoY in Oct by a decent margin than NSW & XBO would be up by a huge amount if the ratios are close to accurate.

Spiderman was a big sales pusher for the PS4 last month so its reasonable to think that many people that were getting the PS4 for RDR2 might have got ti a month earlier.

I don't think it is due to Spiderman. I think it is due to everybody knowing that Sony and MS go hard for Black Friday, and there was already one such sale leaked. Of course MS offset that by going hard with RDR2.

Agree, Spiderman already gave huge boost to PS4 sales, so with RDR2 maybe we cant see big difference, but that doenst mean that PS4 will not have good or strong sales in October in any case even if Switch or XB1 sold better. Also Black Friday also deffinatly effecting, people know that PS4/XB1 will have great deals during Black Friday.

PS4 is not coming in 3rd in October. The tool is exaggerating the XB1 sales boost over PS4. I think also because there's sooooo many bundles. As i said before, 1 week is not enough to past total PS4 sales in October plus pre orders plus day of sales. It would probably have to sell what, over 200K that week? I know the tool is taking in account of this. Though i think sometimes it can be overly generous specifically with XB1 and it's trillion bundles when they all move up in the charts. The opposite too actually when they're all so low. 

That's just what i think anyway. Could be wrong. If so, brilliant job on MS's part countering Sony's RDR2 marketing and bundle.

As for November. Current sales don't matter too much imo. Black Friday is when the biggest sales happen.
