Well I've played a lot of Zelda and Mario, and princess recovery has become my biggest hobby next to gaming so I guess there might be some truth to this.

I assume a counter to things like this?
Actually articles like this fuel the "far" right, since it seems there is no right, only far right...

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!
If anything, games lean heavily to the left with the recent rise of the offended culture, where shit has to also be historically inaccurate because, muh feelz
My god, what did I just read.I must be having a stroke based on so much nonsense I just read.

...Did they seriously just name Splatoon?
I can't think of anything that's fueling the rise of extreme ideologies more than the sensationalist news outlets (as in all of them) that get spread throughout social media to those most inclined to agree with and absorb their dire content. Here the Guardian is accusing others of "fueling the far right" with an article designed to stoke the flames they're complaining about.
It can be very hard not to hate people sometimes.
The first thing that needs to be said is that the Guardian is complete garbage, though they can be un-ironically entertaining. Second, no, video games aren't fueling the rise of the far right. The far left is fueling the rise of the far right and vise versa.

One of the most important things to learn about reading news is that if it's under an "opinion" section and not by the actual newspaper/journalism staff then it can be completely ignored. It's the equivalent of a person standing on a soapbox in the street and just ranting and/or rambling about some inane topic.
To quote the Simpsons, "Just don't look."
Not even worth discussing.
