Forums - Sales Discussion - After 1 year Horizon has sold more then BOTW Switch

Anything is possible if the userbase is big enough and the timing is right.

Who knows what will happen

Doesn't apply here.... BOTW wasnt only a launch title, at the time of the NS launch it had more than a 100% attach rate. What tha tells you is thay a lot of people bought the NS juat to play that game.

Further confirmed by looking at BOTW sales on the WiiU. Significantly lower than the NS even though for the most part its had the larger install base.

This site has really tied those two games together as sales rivals from the get-go. I know I jumped into the fray as well. It makes sense though. Both were released within a week of each other on rival systems. They're open world. Both have female protagonists. I haven't paid attention for a while, but last I remember BOTW Switch was ahead of HZD. Anyways, fun race. :)

And that is something many thought wouldn't be possible.

Epic fail!!! Nice try though

Both has female leads?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Typical Kerotan comparison

I still say it's only because of the install base of the PS4 as opposed to Horizon: Zero Dawn's quality. Breath of The Wild is still the superior game.

That certainly explain the sales of Zelda on WiiU... and of course Zelda would have sold 70+M on Wii right?

Also shows that games regardless of quality sold over 7M on PS4, all of them.

I thought Zelda sold more than Horizon.

Which is correct ?

lol. why are folk acting like most didnt predict horizon to outsell zelda before the switch launched. saying stuff like "im sorry but install base matters"

That's almost 50% attach rate on the Switch, that's crazy stuff. Both great games, still haven't finished BotW though, that game is massive.
