You should be able to unsubscribe from the Japanese news feed.

If you have multiple accounts for each region, you get the news for that region if you following a channel that supports it. That includes mostly Nintendo news. So if you have an european, american and japanese account for downloading games from different regions from the e-shop, you get each new three times. I see no way to change that, except for opting out of news altogether.
