BTW don't forget digital sales which will no doubt be a decent %. And digital sales are pure profit to Sony. This remake was a very good choice.

Not really, they still need to cover the marketing/development costs. I've no doubt they will... but they're not pure profit until they've managed that first.

Retail sales will cover that. The extra digital are profit.

OK but nothing special since the PS2 launch wouldnt of produced great numbers

On that basis you could say that digital will cover marketing/development and even manufacturing and retailers cuts then to claim retail sales are pure profit...

Sure  Whatever floats your boat

Great debute. SotC was a fairly niche game to begin with, good to see that the market opened up a bit for titles like this one

"8th different Sony-format exclusive to reach No1 so far this year."

They've correct it now, 8th since beginning of 2017, and this is for the combined charts.

For anyone interested these are the 8 games they're referring to:

Horizon
Persona 5
Wipeout Omega Collection
Crash Bandicoot: N'Sane Trilogy
Final Fantasy XII
Uncharted Lost Legacy
Gran Turismo Sport
Shadow of the Colossus

TLG was estimated at below 29k, and that was higher than SOTC PS2, so SOTC <29k. Then, SOTC PS4 = 1.73*SOTC PS2, or SOTC PS4 < 50k.

And this doesn't even factor digital sales. Great stuff.

Great Sales! And nice that the inventor of "The Last Guardian" develops such unique games :)

Out of interest, do you know the development and marketing costs?

acclaimed and successful, a good decision for Sony to revive this game
