Yeah, they lose a lot without HDR. I add 15% contrast on average to fix the washed out effect from the conversion.
Or is it my laptop that does that? Does PNG store HDR values or is it just 8 bit?

I believe PNG stores it.

I guess I have no way to see since I use a program from 1997 to convert the images lol.
Imgur converts the original 6GB file to jpg

PS4 pro saves it as 4K although I run it in performance mode.

This one is small enough in it's original format for imgur to leave it intact

Doesn't look much like in game when I look at it on my laptop. Perhaps on a HDR screen it renders better?
I can't see the colossus, barely an outline and the fire effect is not as bright and washed out.

My fave shot! I took it before defeating Malus. Literally the shadow of the colossus. haha

I thought it would look good with a logo so I added it in:

You sir deserve a medal!

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

the "shadow" looks like a horror-movie

The water looks so inviting, I want to jump.

This is still one of my favorite fights

This game is just gorgeous. I've no idea how I'm going to narrow it down to a handful of screenshots for my review.

Love this one:

Indeed a great shot! That battle does not get any easier for me. I just spend an hour on it again. It took me 7 or 8 attempts to finally get in the right hand. It didn't help I went for the left hand first.

Did you use any filters for those or is that vanilla? Looks gorgeous! :o

No filters, I lured him into a good position in the light and enhanced the contrast afterwards to compensate for the down conversion from HDR. The color is authentic.

I could not get a good shot of the above battle. Too foggy for my liking and no spot to lure him into the sun. He's simply too big. Since this one took so long I'll finish the game tomorrow and start again :) It's so good. I don't know if I'll make the platinum this time, timed mode is not my favorite. I like to take my time.

Ah, you changed the contrast slightly... probably why all your screenshots look more colourful, lol :P I don't have an HDR screen (Well, I do... my tele, but I play on my monitor) so it won't be quite as pretty for me... looks amazing without it anyway though, so playing with it must look epic :P

It's a well known trick :) And the old Sony problem with limited RGB viewed on a full RGB monitor. I guess you have it set to full RGB for playing games on the monitor?

It does look really good with HDR, connect it to the tv if you can. Although you really notice it when going back :/

A few more from me:

Now on my fifth playthrough of the PS4 version (normal difficulty, normal time attack, hard time attack, easy difficulty (for the unlocks and to test out Mirror Mode), and now hard difficulty full playthrough).

Awesome shot!

What's different in hard? My kids started in easy and it seemed pretty much the same except you do more damage to the colossus per hit. Didn't notice if grip duration was different yet I guess that's the other thing that can change? No health regen mabye?
