Huh, that's funny. Even though you admit that Switch was at the top of not just Amazon, but also GameStop and Best Buy during December, you still thought that PS4 would be ahead by 400k.

1.1 million switch

1.5 million ps4

1.2 xbone.

And not just that, you were also proclaiming how useless Amazon was at the end of December because it (correctly) predicted a Switch win, which you couldn't believe.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8677741

But now, you say that December was a solid win for Switch at all of the retailers.

You have just admitted outright that your predictions are based on wishful thinking rather than any sort of evidence. What other explanation is there, considering how you thought PS4 would win up until the results actually arrived, even though by your own admission, none of the retailers backed that up?

switch is more popular online, that should be obvious. if we looked at amazon for December xbox should have been way in last place, but it was very close to switch, and beat ps4, even though 2 ps4 sku were ahead of it. the reason why ps4 lost that month was because there was no deals, and xbox  was 100$ cheaper till the last week of Christmas, and battlefront is a very unappealing bundle.

that doesnt hold true because npd tracking for December actually started on November 26th, thats why it had a good showing in december npd. It corresponds to xbox one winning November on Amazon. Those BF week sales were counted in Nov for Amazon, but Dec for NPD.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Hey, so I know this is your thing, and I appreciate all the work you do, but I am curious why you are not including Oculus Rift and PSVR when they are in the top 100?

Aren't they addons though?

I guess it would depend on who you ask. I would consider them as their own platform. If SNES Mini is on the list then OR and PSVR should be as well.

Personally any game that offers PSVR support I only play in PSVR. Any game that is available for both PS4 or PSVR, I buy the PSVR version. PSVR is by far my favorite current gen console platform.

He's been saying for a long time that the gap between NS and PS4 will be a lot smaller than Amazon seems to indicate.

Speaking of PS4 and Amazon, did they run out of them? How is that even possible? It's 2018!

I haven't checked personally but from what people have been saying, yes the PS4 has been going in and out of stock on Amazon recently. I have no idea of the cause though.

Hasnt been in and out of stock, if it was its drop wouldnt be as drastic.
its legit been sold out on amazon for like a week or two.

Switch even when it was sold out, usually got a new batch of switch units every few days... that was in and out of stock.
PS4 is just been out of stock.

Theory could be their trying to sell off the last of a bundle or something, before they introduce a new one.

Sony could be reducing shipments.  Amazon also may have effed up.  Amazon seems to be doing that lately, their supply of consoles seems to periodically get uncharacteristically low compared to their size.

Yeah but the difference here is that you need to buy ps4 to get the PSVR. So I'd say that the PSVR wouldn't count for that reason.

Does that matter? People are interested in how that particular hardware is doing.

Well it clearly doesn't matter and I never said it was a problem to add it in but I'm not the person doing these updates and that person hasn't replied so I was just giving my two cents.
