I think 35k is not vey close, 25k, would be very close considering it's a 5 week period.

Ah... I think 35k can be still considered close. It will be more interesting from March on. I think both January and February were close.

I would say switch won JAN, by 15-25k, here is number 2,and 3 predictions suggesting ps4 sold over 255k. Now that we have numbers, i'm honestly vey impressed switch is keeping up with ps4 previous years  in monthly sales so far.

Poor PS4 and xb1. They need a price cut if they want to stay competitive with the switch. I honestly feel until they do, Nintendo will win every NPD for the foreseeable future. Sony already proved it can win NPD with a $199 PS4 as evidenced during November. But at $299 going into its 5th year, it’s setting into a firm 2nd to 3rd position for monthly console sales.

Now that February is mostly barren of big game releases on PS4, this month should see switch winning by a significant higher margin. Take note, switch won January with no new games at all. PS4 had dbz and monster hunter and still lost.

But Sony can still reverse all of it by lowering the price and get right back in this. Until then, this is a switch train and we’re all in for the ride!

So what about the PS4 having sold 0.5M more than the Switch worldwide this year, according to VGChartz? Should Sony forego worldwide revenue just so that they can stop the Switch from marginally outselling the PS4 in 1 region?

Why are you bringing up worldwide? I’m discussing only npd as this is what the amazon thread generally is for, predicting NPD for North America. My comments are directed solely at the North American market where switch has been performing admirably against the market leading PS4.

If that troubles you, my apologies.

Well, price cuts occur globally. If we’re talking price cuts then we need to talk about global performance. As for the PS4 leading the market, it was the best selling console in the US in 2017. So, 1 month in 2018 doesn’t mean that Sony has to push the panic button. Especially not when it’s the PS4’s 5th year where it is expected that console has passed its peak.

The thing about your post, it just doesn't make sense. ps4 is still clearly competitive with switch based on the recent  numbers.

Been a couple of days since I have updated. Quite a drop on the XBO front. Very nice to see OR continue to hold down that spot in the 70's. Sony really needs to get more Skyrim stock out there. And, as I said previously. The full bundle Headset + Camera + Moves is the way to go. Hope they are taking note.
Last day of February. See everyone in the March thread!

Ryng Manuel Tolu did some math and got these numbers

I did some math. Pls remember those are just estimate.

NSW ~ somewhere between 255K and 285K
PS4 ~ 254K
XB1 ~ 235K

Until we get others news/leaks, i'll probabily use ~270K for Switch.

So we have switch winning by probably 15k, once sony releases the big guns, and drops the price, i think ps4 will clearly out sell switch this year in the US by a good margin. it really doesn't matter though switch is doing great, but people expecting to beat ps4, i don't think thats gonna happen.

Switch continues to rank very high!

Pocky Lover Boy!

210-235k for Xbox in January would be extremely good since its previous best was like 160k that's about 50% up on its best jan.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Every other January were a 4 weeks month. This January had 5. In a 4 weeks month, XB1 would have sold ~188K, so a 19% increase compared to last year 158K. Still great.
