The Nintendo Switch hardware is...

A big leap over 7th gen 71 40.11%

A minor leap over 7th gen 72 40.68%

About the same as 7th gen 24 13.56%

Actually WORSE than last gen 10 5.65%

The game has no AA on wii u, how is there no a jaggies in sight?

You really are cherry picking here. AA or not the game looks better than GOW3 on a technical level, textures lighting, shaders etc. Get over it. Stop trying to instigate a fanboy war. I'm not buying into it. Switch and Wii U is more capable machines than PS3. Get over it stop quoting me with your bullshit.

Hear hear.

Also, Dialgamarine, the PS3 would die if it tried to run BotW. No problem? Really? LOL

depends. The average Switch game looks definitely better than the average PS360 games.

But at the same time more modern PS360 games (Killzone 3, Uncharted 3, Halo 4, Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, Watch Dogs, Rise of the Tomb Raider etc.) are easily in the same league as high class Switch games.
Difference is that most don't run at 60FPS, but this thread is primarily about visuals.

Still I guess at the end of the Switch life, there will be a lot more games that look better than PS360.

That's a supersampled bullshot. Actual GOW3 on PS3 does not look this good.

This screenshot wouldn't look out of place in a brand new switch game. You can't deny that.

If that came out today as a big budget Switch exclusive I'd say it looked muddy and sub-par.

That's because it's a vita screenshot. I always maintained Swifch graphically was just the successor to the Vita and this proves it.

That Killzone pic is rough looking. Yeesh. Aged pretty poorly.

It's on the vita. The Switch is basically a next gen vita in terms of graphics.

Those are from Ascension, not GOW3, and as impressive as they are for 2006 hardware, they still have lower quality shaders, textures, and effects than Switch is capable of. Ascension  has its fair share of rough edges too:

you can find a bad screen shot of any game, and of course SWITCH is more capable then ps3, thats obvious, but imo nobody has tapped into the hardware yet. also these are agameplay pics of GOW3, posting another one

Once again your shots aren't displaying on my screen for some reason, but a lot of the pics you seem to be selecting are either promotional shots that look much better than the real game, or stills from cutscenes which similarly look better than the actual gameplay.

You're correct that at this early stage Switch won't have been fully tapped out yet, but even so, we've already seen games with a higher caliber of effects work, shaders, etc than even the best looking PS3 games. If you prefer the more art style of Sony's efforts though, that's a valid opinion, I'm simply talking about technology.

So you're backing down from your ridiculous statement that it wouldn't look out of place as a new Switch game?

Have you played GOW3, anyway all my shots are direct feed captures from gamers https://www.neogaf.com/threads/is-god-of-war-iii-not-the-best-looking-console-game.440510/page-10

Aside from doom, i have no idea what games your talking about. running at 1080p, then yea thats make them more technically demanding.

Yeah I have played GOW3 actually. It looked absolutely amazing in 2010 but up against the better looking games on Switch it definitely shows its age in terms of shaders, textures, effects work, as is to be expected since the disparity in hardware makes it an unfair comparison to begin with.

The thing is, looks and power are not necessarily the same thing. For example, to me Okami on PS2 still looks better than most PS4 games; not because it's more graphically advanced, but simply cos I love its art style. If you love God of War's style and think it looks more visually pleasing than what Switch has on offer, that's fine. But as we seem to agree, Switch's technological superiority is a fact.

i'm not seeing how GOW3 and und uncharted 3 are showing there age compared to this, yes it's technically more demanding cause it runs at 60ffps which is very demanding, but those graphics, are a step down, aside from running higher resolution
