Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan sales (Week 3): Media Create/Famitsu/Dengeki - January 15-21, 2018

Was hoping soon to find out the Switch baseline in Japan. I'm guessing there is still shortages? It seems the baseline is definitely 50k plus.

Also those Switch SW leeeeegs!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

According to Serkan Toto on Twitter, there's still Switch shortages both in units and software.

It's depressing to see Switch started new year witch stock problems in Japan, sources saying that Switch again has huge stock problems.
On other hand Switch SW are selling great, I am happy that ARMS keep showing legs. :D

Anyone know the reason why Nintendo can't fixed the Switch supply issue?

Pocky Lover Boy!

  • PlayStation 4 – 52,507 (43,808) +19.86%
  • Switch – 43,027 (37,500) + 14.74%
  • 3DS – 12,115 (16,855) - 28.12%
  • PlayStation Vita – 4,256 (4,388) -3.01%
  • Xbox One – 1,388 (113) + 1128.32%
  • Xbox explosion! But still dead last. 3DS seems to be fading away slowly.

I find it still incredible how Splatoon 2 sales in Japan every week more than SMO and MK8D.

Demand is higher than what they can produce and ship currently!?

Great start into the new year for PS4 thanks to MonHun World. Switch stock is getting problematic, with even software having issues for several week in a row now.
Xenoblade 2 has had stock issues ever since it launched.

Seeing how well the Switch is selling in the US, Europe and areas of ROW we've gotten data about, simply allocating more shipments to japan might not be an option either. They might have to up production again to be able to ship enough to japan and that will take a while.

That said, I'm happy to see Mario+Rabbits with a decent launch. That game deserved it so much.

Switch is just meh. I thought the stock issues would have been sorted by now but nope.

On the positive side Mario + Rabbids had a demonic debut! Very nice to see!

Xbox probably got a boost due to people not finding PS4s for MH, in the end it's the same game, it'll even run better on XboX
