Forums - Sony - Sony figurines are finally happening!

How are these any different than Funko Pop figures?

Last I checked, they had Crash, Kratos, Aloy, Spyro, Sackboy, Heihachi, etc. Funko figures. These just look a little more like the game models.

The Pops are an ugly excuse for Westernized chibi figures.

I'm really curious as to the age of some of these posters. My god, if you re-read your posts 10 years from now you would look back in shame. This isn't aimed at everyone, but wow.

I get that it's "fun" to "debate" (read "argue") from time to time, but a fair percentage of posts can pretty much be discredited immediately based on their blatant ignorance.

You make a post to diss Sony and you think the other Nintendo fans are high-fiving you for doing them a favor; well not me.

Sure, but they're still licensed figures, just like these new ones.

Yet somehow these are copying Amiibo?

The packaging at least makes it very amiibo-ish. Let's be real.

Like most action figure-like product line you mean?

I explained why to TruckOsaurus.

Ha! Sony ripping off Skylanders, just like Nintendo did!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I for one don't think that they are coping Amiibos.

Good for you.  I still disagree.

I can't wait to stand in line at midnight next to Homeless Joe and other creepy Men and Moms to get one. Or at least watch others get one and then be one too many and have to drive across town to the next spot, argue with the manager until they exhaust every last means to see if they have it. Then tell them I will never come to this store again and storm off to the next location.
A week later I will buy it off eBay for 100 dollars.

Will be the most fun I have had since Gold Mario amiibo.

I just watched that movie last night. Well, parts of it. On topic: These look pretty good. No interest in stuff like this anymore, but I used to buy a few of the McFarlane Toys Image action figures in the mid 90's as a curiosity, because they looked so nice and were priced well.

And that's ok.

Will be getting some Totaku's regardless. I like them because to me they are amiibo-ish.

It's about time. The special edition figurines and even the Sackboy plushies were fine but I've always thought having smaller models in general should have happened a long time ago. The only reason I can think that they haven't done this before is because Sony wanted to make sure they weren't associated with 'toys'.
