New concept, best lineup last year, 2 game of the year contenders including the Goty winner...

So absolut nothing for non nintendo fans?

Not being a Nintendo fan is just an excuse. Honestly I get you can hate Mario or some franchise but there is gotta be something you like while they are literally doing every damn genre ever.

You make it sound like Nintendo produce only super niche, abstract content, in reality they do anything but.

Breath of the wild is an open world exploration game, a genre that would have no problem shifting huge numbers on other platforms.

Mario is a platformer, that judging by the recent crash  bandicoot numbers, is a genre still in large demand on the Playstation platform - how many millions has it sold now? For a remaster of a collection of games which are inferior in pretty much every category to every Mario...

So what you should have said was "so absolutely nothing for non platformer/open world games". (though you'd still have been wrong)

I have to question whether youv'e actually played either of those games, or if you did, were you wearing your 'I must hate all things Nintendo' glasses...

I'm a Nintendo fan first and foremost but I can openly admit that I'd likely enjoy horizon or uncharted because in the end I'm a fan of great game design, I'm not sure I can say the same for yourself based on your posts.

You're only depriving yourself you know...

Right, the "I don't like Nintendo games" is the new excuse nowadays. It's like Metroid/Zelda/Kirby are all the same artstyle, type of game and everything. Seriously we all know these people only play games for how "cool" it can make them look, they don't really care about the rest.

How do we know switch will sell aswell in year 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 as ps4? It could sell better for year 2, 3 and then not be as good the rest.

I never specified that. It will probably not have legs as strong but Switch will definetly peak higher once they start getting Pokémon and animal crossing out. Switch will finish around 15 millions first year. It would be incredibly surprising if it can't push 6 millions more with significant stock, real deals and bundles and massive system seller. They won't ship 25-30 millions switchs next FY for nothing, and it will maybe not be the peak of the console. If it follows a handheld trend of sales, it will have good legs with price cut and etc.

I also don't see Nintendo dropping the system like the Wii (which was hated abd families played less, there was no point supporting it hardcore.) Assuming people don't get over it, Nintendo having only 1 system, if it sells great, they will make it last the longer time possible cause they won't have a backup if the next system, most likely hybrid, fails.

Some swear Nintendo will produce 25 to ship 20 (Nintendo target) and before believed the rumor that they would produce 30 to ship 25, do you also fall into that?

Well they said they want to sell more than 20 million units during next FY. They have been talking about consumers for their numbers lately, it's not an investor meeting which they have to talk about the numbers sold to retailers...

And if they want to sell 20+ millions (as of before the holidays,  it probably changed again with their amazing sales during December), yes I believe the rumour is probably true. If it's not, they still expected to sell 20+ millions like 4 months before the period and by that time the sales of the Switch have just been surprising everyone yet again. Their goal is probably up again, maybe now they want to sell 25 millions for the next FY, so even if the rumour is false, we are literally in the same area.

And if it is sold through consumers, then a 20-25 million goal would mean around 30 millions shipped, so again...

Wanting to sell and forecasting it are 2 different things, but let's go on it.

The rumor was to PRODUCE 30M to SHIP 25M, or PRODUCE 25M to SHIP 20M.

If the rumor was to sell through 20M while shipping 22M and perhaps having produced 22,5-23M it could make some sense (or sell 25, ship 27 produce 28)... but to ship 20 while producing 25 or 25 producing 20M is totally crazy, that is just to much inventory... because if you shipped 20M you would likely sold 18M, so by producing 25M you would have 7M unsold (or about 40% of the sold amount) that you would have to ship and sell on the slowest part of the year while keep the same production level or having extra cost to cut it down.

Whoa calm down lmao.

First of all, a big company like that doesn't say "I want to sell 20+ millions" for no reason. Every number they give is analyzed by the investors they can't just throw random hopes like this if it doesn't mean anything. If there is anything, it is their goal for FY 2018 but before they had to make a solid announcement, which like I said, will most likely be up by now following them having an incredible first holiday season and the Switch looking to become the fastest selling console of all time on it's first year.

The 20+ million numbers were following the 10 million announcement which was sell through consumer, so I'm pretty sure it was indeed referring to sold and not shipped, or else they would have specified. And now that the numbers are probably up from their announcement before the holidays, we can just wait for their next move.

If I'm not mistaken and it really is 20+ (and btw, they said it in a way referring to atleast 20 million, so it might be even more but they wanted to share a more realistic prediction since it was so far off the period he was talking about) they could clearly be producing 25 million consoles.

Anyway, I don't understand why you are so pressed, we have so little information I'm just saying "if the rumour is true". But seeing how the console is selling, it will most likely be true.

Have I said they go and make light of their announcements? Nope, just said they wanting to sell is different than what they will formally put on their projections.

And sure, I have no issue with their 20M+ intention is sell through and not shipment.

I was talking about another rumor on VGC that had Nintendo either PRODUCING 30M to SHIP 25M or PRODUCE 25M to SHIP 20M... those are the ridiculous numbers because it would have to much on invetory. And when you said you agreed with the rumor I thought you knew which one it was.
