I think its because they have 15 Directs listed on that page. Where I believe they usually take the oldest one off prior to announcing their newest one.

On a computer it looks unusual to have a blank space at the bottom. Which would be where Direct #16 would be.

Usually before a Nintendo direct announcement they remove one of the previous directs from that page so there is a free space for an upcoming one.

If Nintendo themselves are teasing this much then that tells me they're very confident in what they have to show since teasing just leads to heightened expectations

No reason to post on the Nintendo America twitter a Chibi-Robo on Fire with no context for the reason.

 

They also reposted a picture for no real reason of the parrot from Mario Odyssey that talks about a secret. When the original tweet was on National Bird Day (reasonable reason). There is no reason for that repost.

Star Fox Zero port that needs two Switch units and two copies of Star Fox Zero to play and can only be played in docked mode.
