Some games I hope make a leap next year:
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow at #464
Deus Ex at #329
Psychonauts at #288
Tomb Raider (1996) at #277
Demon's Souls at #187 (it looks to be listed as Demon Souls)
Getting a game into the Top 40s and 50s takes as little as 7-10 votes. The important thing here is rank, many games up to the Top 110 also had 7-10 votes but since most of the votes were low-mid rank is why the total ranking was low.
Beyond that it gets much more difficult (BotW had 39 votes and Mario 64 had 36 votes). Along with very high scores: BotW has 18 votes in the Top 5 and SM64 has 7 votes in the Top 5.

Well, Nintendo is only one company. If Nintendo-fans vote for Nintendo games it accumulates more points than if non-Nintendo-fans distribute their votes between many companies and games.

I was very entertained by the top 10 alone: 4 Zeldas, 4 Marios, a Mario Kart, and a Metroid barely squeaking in at #10. It seems like it's just two franchises that are especially dominating the charts. |
Hmm, to be fair, these two franchises get all the resources and heart by Nintendo, that is a reason they tend to nearly always turning out great.

To concentrate the votes on a single entry in a franchise, people would've to agree which entry is the best.
In my personal feeling, the Zelda's are in many cases very different games, so it is somewhat justified. Still, more diversification would be fine. Let's see how to do that.
