Forums - Politics Discussion - The FCC repeals its net neutrality rules - The Washington Post

I guess it's that time again where us Americans have to grab our guns and start 1776ing these politicians. Nothing new here, just an American tradition when someone tries to take our freedom.

December 14, 2017,
TThere was a riot on the streets
Tell me where were you?
You were sittin' home watchin' your TV
While I was participating in some anarchy...

...They said it was for the black man,
They said it was for the mexican
And not for the Congressman
But if you look at the streets
It wasn't about Ajit Pai
It's bout this fucked up situation and the fucked up FCC!...

...Riots on the streets of New York City,
Riots on the streets of DC,
LA and Chicago...

And it happens on the same day as the massive Disney buyout of 20th Century Fox, which now owns 60% of Hulu, and will be pulling all it's content from Netflix. Big day for corporate fuckery. I'd just like to add I can't post what I'd like to see happen to Ajit Pai, and his stupid grinning face, but that says it without saying it.

I am surprised anyone thought this vote wasn't going to go the way that it did. Its not like Ajit Pai wasn't appointed to the FCC for nothing. This was always the plan in this current administration. As been shone already this administration is geared to get rid of pretty much any regulation from the previous admin no matter what it is.

It definitely looks like a valid reason for a people’s revolt, armed or not. It’s not like it would be the only valid reason though.

Definitely hoping the best for you guys...let’s hope they don’t let this happen.

The FCC is actually the agency supposed to check and uphold net neutraliy. This is like the national doctors association abolishing vaccines.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

But but now you can get cheaper internet, no more need to subsidize people that stream movies and download games. Just browse VGChartz and save money. Perhaps some nice folks will add a text description to the you tube videos you can't watch. :p

The only thing that can overturn this is the Supreme Court. Let's see what those guys do when they have to wait for their porn to load.

Congress still has to vote on this and most congressmen have openly stated they will shoot it down.

This is just the FCC voting internally to remove the regulations. Congress will stop it. And even if it does go through, the courts will likely strike it down.

Nonetheless, it still needs to be voted by the Congress and Individual States can refuse to apply the measure and keep it the way it already is (*ex. California)

Hope to God you're right...

This will get shut down by Congress. If not I will just have to shoot it down the hard way *pumps shotgun*.
