Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
Well Mario Kart wii will sell 8 million regardless of review scores.

read the review. THEN comment. "guessing" what they are really doesn't help the case whatsoever.

i don't care much for review sites, i look more towards gameplay vids but most people actually use reviews like you said as a means to tell them if a game is fun or not without even playing it.....it is a shame.

Well, most of us (and that goes for 99.999% of population) doesn't have 50-60 bucks to burn in order to actually play and then form your own judgement on a game such as Ninjabread man.
Unless they show 8 hours of gameplay video, as well as PIP of the guy playing it, there's no way you can tell how well it is.
Judging a game base on a few minutes of gameplay vid, now, that is a shame

There are alternatives to buying the game, you could rent it, play at a friends(most people have friends), play at a store kiosk. I think gameplay vids are better than reviews. SUre it isn't the best way to judge but at least it is you doing the judging and not some reviewer who most likely has different tastes than you.

1), 6 bucks for me to tell if a game is bad?
2), beg your friends to buy the game and then let you play it?
3), you think store kiosk will have the newest game on demo all the time?
Reviews (not just video games) have been here for a long time, and they've survived until now for a reason.

EDGE are tough cr4itics, at least here in England. The last game I remember them giving a 10 was Metroid Prime, I think they even gave ocarina of time an 8 or 9 or something. Oh and I think elite beat agents also got a 10, but I'm not sure.
yes edge does seem to be tough critics, much like eurogamer... I just think they make fools of themselves when they slap a 6 on a game that Millions of people is going to love.
I think reviewer take their own opinion too much into consideration. They need to take it out of their mental context and review it by how much they think the average gamer would enjoy it.. Reviewers are not average gamers...
What is kinda funny... for sports games I would rather read a review for CNNSi, or some other mainstream outlet...
That is unless I know the reviewer is into sports games. But most reviewers are FPS, RTS, or RPG type guys.

I was just looking through the site and half of those reviews are BS. I swear they gave completely different scores for some games in the magazine.
