I look at it as a No Mans Sky with a Pirates skin.

Not enough misleading marketing/flat out lies for a NMS comparison to work :)

Rare updated their site last week with tons of info on the game. Reputation, Renown, Trading Companies, etc. Check it out.

Am i to blame for Microsoft and Rare poor marketing?

Who is going to visit Rare's website to know what is the game about? They must have a hundred visits per month on their site.

Im basing my judgement of the game from what Microsoft have shown at their events, which is basically a bunch of nothingness.

Some guys fighting on a ship and doing random stuff in the land.

I think that view count says it all and backs up his point.

It should still give you a good idea regarding what the game is all about. If you are even curious, that is.

lol, who said you’re to blame for anything? You seemed to want information, or at worst lack it, I was simply telling you where you can find it. Take it or leave it. That defensive reply lol.

They are moving from Alpha to Beta so do you know if these new features will be in the upcoming Beta?

I sure hope so.

Your talking about different things. PS4 will outsell X1 regardless of the game it has bundled for starters. I am referring to the games affecting each other sales not which game moves more hardware because that's a stupid way to look at it. GOW4 will sell millions based off PS4s success while SoTs wont have that advantage.

Back to my point is these two games are completely different to each other. Gamers who want to play an openworld MMO will choose to buy SoTs, gamers who want a bloody Action adventure will buy GoW4.

GoW4 will most likely be heavily bundled compared to SoTs and PS4s rapid sales compared to X1s will mean GoW4 will sell more by default. However GoW4 and SoT customers aren't affected because again different games. Apples to Oranges.

You are thinking to narrowly, if you own a PS4 and an Xbox, or perhaps a PS4 and a PC, and both games are coming out and you want both games, you can only get one, then of course there is an impact. You are thinking that one game is only suited to one type of player and only to someone who owns a PS4 console. SOT is aimed at both PC and Xbox and they will want to sell as many as possible, thinking that other big games have no impact on sales of other games is totally the wrong thought.

AAA game that is violent and mythology and a AAA game that is with pirates and MMO based can definitely appeal to the same player.

If a gamer has two platforms to own both games, than he/she will buy the game they want to play first. However most gamers own one machine and so that already limits there choice of game to own. Hence why SoTs and GoW4 will not affect each other. They will attract there own audience of gamers.

Yes there are some gamers who will play both genres however there are many gamers who will only play 1 and that's where they will choose there preferred genre. GoW4 isn't going to take the MMO/RPG gamers away from SoTs much like how SoTs wont take the Gory Action Adventure crowd away from GoW4.

If you like Apples over Oranges you will buy the Apple for lunch. This is exactly what it is, Apples to Oranges.

If SoTs came out with another MMO/RPG on the same platform than it has a chance to lose out on sales if not marketed right.

Zombie games being an example - If Dying Light 2 came out at the same time as Dead Island 2 on the same platform they will affect each others sales. But if Dying Light 2 came out exclusive on X1 and Dead Island 2 exclusive on PS4 than they wont affect each others sales because gamers with those systems will buy what's available to them not an entire console to play one game unless your like me who brought an 360 just to play Halo.

lol who cares, fucking God of War shouldn’t have been brought into this thread for discussion anyway. It’s on a different platform and is not even close to the same genre. Far Cry 5 releasing a week later is a much bigger concern for SoT than a PS4 game.
