Criminally there is no platformer award
I think there might be a graphics one though?

P5 would at least have deserved it...still too niche to win GOTY.

Well I kinda agree but let's not forget that Switch's success is a bit based on Wii U's failure. Nintendo abandoned the Wii U and shifted everything to Switch, which is a great console and delivered the megatons right away.

I agree. I just can't stand sore losers.
In fact honestly Zelda probably wouldn't be my GOTY out of those nominees. But it's certainly a respectable one, I think all of them were.

fake news.
Horizon may not have won anything but people should still be glad that it was nominated, that's still a good thing, it's not like it went unnoticed then.
Truly is a shame.
I'm playing through it right now, and it's a really, really great game.
But it's biggest flaw was that it came out in the same year as the biggest and most acclaimed Zelda game ever, plus the Mario game everyone wanted since Galaxy 2.
Though, I think there's no shame whatsoever in losing to Zelda.
Guerilla Games should be very proud of themselves.

Ok....so all in all VERY happy with the show, announcements and above all the winners! Very satisfying. Really sad for Horizon and Mario though, but yeah this year competition was incredible. And most importantly The Game Awards aren’t the only awards given out this year.

Well we'll have to wait for PSX to see how much they bring the first party
Mario, at the very least, won the award for Best Family Game.
Horizon... yeah, that's a shame.
