Forums - Nintendo - What was the last Wii U game you bought? Any games in 2019?

I liked the Wii U a lot.  But, that gamepad seemed so dated, even at launch.  Paper thin tablets were becoming popular, and here comes a game system with a giant, bulky controller thing with a (relatively) small screen in it.  It just wasn't cool.  It's like the tech world passed them by during their R&D stage, but they decided to run with it anyway.

Having not tried much of the Switch I do not know how good, good can be. So I love the gamepad, despite being bulky.

I liked the Gamepad.  The off-TV play was great, as was two-screen play (in theory, anyway). But, me liking doesn't take away from its obvious lack of coolness.

Yeah you can, but I don't know it's not the same as the Wii U. The U just has a special kind of charm to me at least

My complaint was only that some games REQUIRED the gamepad to be your controller.  I realize that some games utilized it as a map or whatever... but to me, it just wasn't comfortable as a controller.

I bought Paper Mario Color Splash and Darksiders Warmastered Edition last year ( I don´t remember exactly when, but it was before September ). I´m yet to play those games, though....

I had to move and where I live now, there´s no room to hook up all my consoles, so I have not been playing any WiiU games. As soon as I move to my own apartment, I´ll make a setup and will be able to play it again and finally finish Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I really miss playing on the WiiU

I still want to buy Devil´s Third and Lego Dimensions, if I´m able to find a copy for a reasonable price. Those games are sort of rare.

If you're short on space, doesn't the ability to play without a TV help?

Ubisoft seems to be having a sale right now on the Wii U shop.

Assassin's Creed III - $5
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag- $5
Splinter Cell Blacklist - $5
Rayman Legends - $10
ZombiU - $15

I already owned Rayman Legends. I have never played the others, so I bought those.

Iirc you had a massive digital wiiu collection. Isn't Devils third on eShop?

I have a massive digital collection and I never got Devils third either. My reason was that it got delayed in north america and I spent my money on other games.

I just pulled my WiiU out of the box for the first time in almost 2 years. My friend and I were missing the simultaneous multiplayer games that it was known for. Mario 3D World is a blast with multiple players.

Haven't bought a WiiU game since Breath of the Wild

I am the proud new owner of Super Mario Maker for the Nintendo Wii U.

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

Bought the Wii U's biggest and most ambitious exclusive game a couple of days ago: Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I'll probably play it 3 years down the line, but then again... I bought the Wii Xenoblade Chronicles in 2013 and I've only played around 3 minutes of it.

Just bought Rodea the Sky Soldier, let's see how bad the Wii U version compares to the Wii one. :)
