The Last Of Us for me. That was the most powerful intro I've ever played - and really set the tone for the rest of the game. Really looking forward to the sequel.

The intro was fantastic.
For me it was Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda both games changed what I expected from video games at the time.
Oh yeah and OP don't let people give you shit for your poll, this is a very hard thing to make a poll for.
No Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: SoTN, or FFIV/VI?

Donkey Kong Country 1 or 2 if I'm in a platformer mood
FFVIII or FFXII for RPGs.
I don't really know if I prefer platformers to RPGs so it's any one of those four.
