The last few weeks were packed with official FIA and manufacturer tournaments.

Great to hear that. But what I mean is a big live tournament, like the ones they do for LoL or the EVO championship. Live crowd, Twitch streaming. That kind of thing is not cheap, but it elevates the competition to a different level.

GT Sport even has a big advantage against these other games. It is officially recognized by FIA as a real sports championship. The rest is just kids play, this could be the real deal.

As far as I know the bigger final/semi-final etc races will be streamed and have commentators. I don't know if they did something like this already though. Didn't have the time and still lacking skill to participate in those FIA and manufacturer races myself.

I checked the update details in game and the 27 November patch will also tweak the SR penalties. It doesn't say how but it should be more transparent in the way that you will be able to check what penalties you have received and also what penalties others have received. Hopefully things will become a bit more fair as a result.

If you can paint the car white, you could actually drive the MACH FIVE from "Go Speed Racer" :D

So they have actual single player now? That's something at least, but how's the customization in this game compared to previous titles? I heard the tuning and optimization options are very limited? It's such an integral part of the GT series for me, it's like 50% of the game, if not more, along with a proper career mode, of course.

All the tuning options are available in single player and lobbies. Yet in sports mode all tuning options are now locked out and you can only race with stock settings automatically balanced by power and weight to match the rest of the cars. Reasons here:

Bought my GTS today, see you soon.

Ah nice! I just worked myself back up to SR S class, lowering to DR D in the process. Not qualifying and working my way up from last position is both safer and more fun! Classic Gran Turismo racing. However the game doesn't recognize the effort and only adjusts your 'skill' based on finish position. Still an epic race today, started last, finished 6th (out of 16) after 4 laps. I was the only one on the whole board with a positive SR rating after the race. It helped that a couple of people in front of me had 20+ sec penalty time shooting me up in the final tally lol. That should be an achievement, get away unscathed in the scene of madness.

Anyway you have at least 20 hours of single player content to get through, only 4 more days until the first patch to improve SR.

That sounds great, it's time to push this as a big e-sports game.

And besides the 20h there will be the career mode plus I starting to learn how do shift change using the wheel if everything works out.

It's more than 20h....the custom race mode essentially lets you build as many "careers" as you wish...whatever race you like frankly. And you still get experience, cars, upgrades and credits by doing it.

Great you finally got the game...enjoy!

Patiently waiting until the update.
