No, this is the Driveclub model. All they need to do is patch out the need to be online to save. Hopefully they're just riding it out until after Christmas. If they don't patch it out, they're still STUPID.

I don’t even think it’s that big of a deal, now that the servers are stable. They should still work it out.

This is Gran Turismo folks. Kaz himself said that this stuff was coming, and it is all free, no paid dlc in GT Sport. They want a unified userbase to make the online equal opportunity for everyone. We won't be getting a GT7, and likely won't see a GTS2. From here on out Gran Turismo will be GTS. Eventually they will move to PS5 and you will have to pay again, and they will probably go to a subscription at some point, but the main goal is to get the largest unified online userbase of racers possible.
Like I said at launch. It may not be for you at launch, give it time though.Check back in 6 months, a year, or 18 months. If you ever loved GT, this will be a game for you. In the end this will be the biggest GT of all time.

Now we're talking! Starting to look much better. I just wonder why they launched the game without it, since it was just a few weeks ago. Delaying the game to include that would have resulted in a higher meta.

It's a service, not a traditional GT game. Think Driveclub but spanning two or more generations. They'll add 4K textures and make it run at 60fps for the PS5.

I agree...it will be a platform from now on, spanning generations. The game is already running at 60fps btw.
