Forums - Sony - Skyrim VR is my Game of the Year

Nope.

I will not replace what i need to do with a movement of the analog stick with a contraption on my head. It's just never gonna happen.

???!!! It's not as simple as using head tracking for more realistic aiming/looking. It's about actually feeling present in the game world. Have you tried any VR experiences? It's not just a screen strapped to your face, you get the effect of a good 3D movie x1000 (no real way for me to measure this but you get the idea).

In-fact, in many cases you will still need to use an analogue stick or buttons to adjust your view. Especially if you're playing seated.

I am soooo jealous of you guys.  I don't think I will be able to sink my teeth into true VR until december next year.  You know, money issues and stuff.

If you play on handheld, just play under your bed coverings. It shuts away the rest of the world and thus very immersive. It's cheap as hell too.

Yes. Had it for less than two weeks. How long does the adjustment time take?

Not sure if its the same for all people but I think I was fine after playing it like 10 times for ~1 hour in 2 weeks ?

Make sure to try games without movement first, this may help you: https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/7fmbea/guide_for_new_psvr_owners_games_motion_sickness/

Wouldnt call that immersive, at least not compared to VR.

It may be as immersive as reading a horror book under your bed covering, but that one will never compete with watching a horror movie either right?

Perhaps not as immersive as VR but for the price, it's killer immersion.

Do you happen to get around on a wheel chair with a welding helmet on?

I'm not making a dig at handicapped, it just seems weird that people would choose to be handicapped in games when we no longer have to. We are finally getting the ability to gain movement of our neck, our hands, our eyes, our hands, and our feet. It is an incredible experience, and once you are comfortable with it, you will be blown away at how restricted you feel on a traditional screen, and M&K or Controller.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Yes, i have. And that is what it felt like to me. I didn't feel like i was in the world. I just had an extremely cumbersome camera.

Like... the graphics of games would have to get ALOT closer to reality for me to have that impression, and still it would be cumbersome.

Sorry, i just don't feel that way at all. It's more restrictive for me to have a contraption on my head than it is holding a controller.

Call me again when the holodeck is a thing.

Have you tried PSVR, Rift, Vive or Google Cardboard (cardboard is very bad in my expierence (used with iPhone X) and doesnt really compare to vr at all.

If you have used high end vr, which software?

There are many VR games looking very good. Sure skyrim doesnt look beatifull but its a 7 years old game.

Robinson looks legit though (even if the game wasnt that outstanding)

Thank you, but that is not what i want from my games. I would get bored of that game in a few minutes. It's just not the kind of entertainment i am looking for.

I don't know wich VR it was as it was in a mall christmas event and i only did it cause my niece wanted me to see it. She was what 7? So, for her it was special.

It's starting to become my game of the year, sorry BotW...

Simply messing around with smithing in a small camp on the side of a mountain while the sun goes down is so relaxing. It's such a nice place to be in. Exploring the underground dungeons feels perfect in VR. It looks simple, yet as a bonus load times are really short after the initial world is loaded into memory.

What was that quest line where you go to the dream world? I wonder what that looks like in VR. So many places to visit still and I guess Dawnguard is from the DLC? I've adopted 2 kids so far, build the foundations of a house, haven't tried riding a horse yet.
