For years Sony tried making a portable console experience. They put tons of money into the PSP and Vita just to see them get crushed. Then along comes Nintendo and is like... Hold my Beer!

Switch has pretty much inherited the AAA portable ports market from Vita by default.

When did the Vita ever have the AAA portable ports market though?

I should have put Vita/PSP in the last sentence. You're right, Vita never really had that market. But then again Vita never really took off. If you look at PSP's library though, you see a lot more ports of console games, and console style original games for the PSP.

It is the only version of the game (besides PC) that you can:
play on the toilet
stop playing
take the cartridge (SD card on PC) out
drop it in the toilet
do your business
flush the toilet
continue with your day

This truly is the definitive console version of Skyrim.

Pretty much!

48 critics reviewed the Switch version, zero reviewed the psvr version, both come out tomorrow.
I see where the favoritism lies :p

Well it's got almost everything going for it now. Quality port (unlike Fifa), actually advertised (unlike L.A. Noire), and to my knowledge the entire game is on the cartridge (unlike most other AAA multiplats). If this doesn't sell well then ruh roh!

That's actually higher than I expected it to be, I was thinking it'd land somewhere in the high 70s.

So better than all other current gen ports? Congratulations!

Yes, it is portable, so if all else is close portability automatically makes it the best, good job Bethesda!

Do 50% of their reviews have a perfect score?
Nope only 32 perfect scores out of 89 reviews! 89 reviews, those were the days.
PC only had 8 perfect score out of 32, even worse! :p

More accurately, that serves as a good example of why it's idiotic to thoughtlessly depend on Meta-scores.

Nah, my experience is that it float around 3-4 points without any reason than luck, but this 20 points difference between the unspecial and the special edition on PC must have be some reason. Also you can clearly see, that the special edition was ranked lower on all platforms. Probably it wasn't seen as spectacular anymore a few years down the line. That all is consistent and that the Switch version falls in line with the other special editions shows that there are no big problems with that version, some obvious glitch or bug, missing content or messed control scheme or something like that. For more I do not take the Metascore.

I downloaded the SE on PC at launch.  It was far better than vanilla Skyrim at launch.  The difference is that they're comparing the PC SE version against the PC vanilla version with mods or they're complaining that it's a "cash grab."  They aren't simply reviewing the game itself.
