Okay, I'm kinda running out of patience with #41 here, but I don't want to post a game without it being guessed, so I'll repost all the hints one last time (well I'd hardly call them hints by now, they're quite specific).

#41 is a spin-off Burnout game featuring an Avril Lavigne song. It can't get much simpler than that, if you've played the game you know it. (edit: and it isn't Paradise, of course.)

Edit: I'm going to sleep now, so well, I guess I'll throw in #40 as well. I hope I wake up to some answers tomorrow.

#40 - This dark and extremely trippy game was released on several platforms, but was most prominent (and also most trippy) on VR.

Here are my next couple:

#41 - The plot of this tactical RPG is like the Neverending Story, which is ironic, because the name of the series it comes from basically means the opposite of "Neverending Story".

#40 - This SNES game got back to its arcade roots, after the NES version deviated to include a real life celebrity.

#41: Sounds interesting. It isn't Final Fantasy, because that would be no tactical RPG.  Can't come up with another idea, but I'm intrigued to know what it is.

Here are the hints for my next three games.

#41: A JRPG developed by Level-5 for the PS2 when the console was already on its way out. One of the developers sadly overlooked titles.
#40: The second game (well, not really) in this fighting game series where the focus is on weapon based combat, and where everyone basically just wants to get their hands on a exceptionally powerful sword.
#39: Level-5 also made this PS2 JRPG, this one being a part of perhaps the second most well known franchise in the entire genre.
