Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds
A Star Wars game that never got a follow-up, 'Galactic Battlegrounds' is a real-time strategy game based on the foundation of, the probably more famous, 'Age of Empires II'. This underlying engine is clearly visible, but it's certainly a strong one, as Age of Empires is equally great.
This is another of those rare games where the multiplayer got more play-time from me than the single-player. Me and a friend would play this game often, taking on computer opponents. There's an interesting thing about this where you can both pick the same color, and essentially be a two-in-one player which allows you to specialize and both focus on different tasks within one camp. Because the computer technically cheats by doing a lot of things simultaneously, battling the harder computer opponents is genuinely challenging.
The single-player follows the movies, with the exception of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, though a campaign focussing on Attack of the Clones was released as an expansion pack. Missions can be things adapted straight from the movies, but are mostly side-stories running parallel to events in the movies. Personally though I found the most interesting thing about the single-player to be the easter-eggs which would become visible using map-reveal cheat-codes.

Whacking pirates in the face with huge pieces of meat is fun.

Hmm, a Star Wars RTS. Didn't know that existed. It looks fine.

It is. If you like Age of Empires, you'll like this. If you like Star Wars, you'll like it even better. It does have the flaw though that all races are basically the same, with the same kind of buildings and the same units and researches. Each race only has a single unique unit and maybe one or two unique techs, but still, it's fun just annihilating Gungans with an army of Stormtroopers and AT-AT's.

Also one of the few games I can recall where people went crazy for the DLC, especially the first and final waves. #42: Spin-off from a franchise that recently sprung back into relevancy, and now is in demand for a return as well, and I agree. Let's just say that Wright may not like this game cause of sharing similarities from a franchise he despises, but this game does everything that series in particular did, but better. #41: One of the few notable games of 2017 that hasn't been nominated for anything for The Game Awards Show, and while it is far from the best adventure game, it does have one of the best epilogues in any game, complete with a beautiful song that uses complete gibberish in the vocals. |
No one?
First two are easy.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Doesn't that sum up most strategy games? |
Lol, yeah guess so. One thing I liked about Warcraft III though, that all the races are unique.
