It almost feels like Nintendo did this on purpose (most likely they did) but today, only a handfull of days after the release of Super Mario Odyssey marks the 10th anniversary for Super Mario Galaxy !

The best Mario imo, and by far the best soundtrack of the entire series.

Time is going so fast. Still it feels like playing Galaxy for the first time wasn't that long ago.

After 100%'ing Super Mario Odyssey, I can safely say this:

As fantasticly incredible of a game Odyssey is, Galaxy is still #1 for me.

It's the only video game in which I can honestly score it, "10 out of 10" if I was asked.
Still every single bit as magical today as it was the first time I played it.

Galaxy to me was like Breath of the Wild was to Zelda. It took a franchise which already had a masterpiece (Super Mario Bros 3, IMO), and then totally eviscerated it along with all of the Mario’s in between. The story, the spherical platforming, the freedom, and how polished it all felt at the same time as being ambitious and creative.

As much as I appreciate what Galaxy 2 and Odyssey did, they do not top this experience to me. I still love revisiting that first journey. IMO, Galaxy 2 actually improved on Galaxy 1, it’s got better levels; but I always see it as kind of an epilogue story or expansion, rather than the main show. But! IMO, Galaxy 2 is an essential play after Galaxy 1... kind of like DKC2 and 3 after 1 (Grrr SNES Classic!!!!).

Odyssey is such a great game that it’s hard to not want to praise it. but IMO, SMB3 is the clear series masterpiece, and SMG is the undisputed Magnum Opus. Especially if you consider SMG2 as the “Master Quest” of it.

Nintendo.... do the right thing and port this to the Switch running 1080p docked.

Worst 3D Mario of all time imo and it's all because of waggle and motion controls. They should rework the entire game and release it on Switch so we can finally play it with 1:1 controls.

That honor goes to Super Mario Sunshine or Super 3D World, imo.

Its popular to hate on Sunshine but its actually not as bad as most make it out to be.

Damnit, i feel old >_>..
such a f*cking good game though.. one of those magic titles you don't forget
