Forums - Nintendo - EA is not committed to Switch, they don't understand the Switch market yet.

No, we bought 3DSes. It's a fun way to play games.

And PSVita isn't?

I'm sure it is, but most of us have never had one. But 3DS sure is a sweet piece of work though! I have no idea why you talk about portable gaming without talking about the 3DS.

I have no idea what you're trying to say or prove for that other stuff you typed, so I'm not going to reply to it.

This was to be expected.

EA jumping on board saying they will support the system and launch a couple of games to see how they do

Since they're not selling, they are hesitant, which makes sense. Probably will try again when Switch numbers are higher

A business attempting to gauge a market before jumping in?

That's just awful. How dare they.

I guess some people just expect every publisher to blindly support the Switch.

I hate EA so much. I can't stop repeating it.

No EA games is not a big deal to me. EA simply has a different business strategy, they want to push their games as a service bullshit, I hate this approach. They don't even have appealing games for me anyway.

The last two statements on your sig seem contradictory.

For one thing this is going to bring out the Nintendo is doomed crowd in mass

Also I would like to one day play another Hockey game.

The people who like to shout "Nintendo is doomed" are deranged and should be bullied.

Sports games are bad, stop feeding the beast.

You've never played them, have you?

I have, unfortunately.

I wouldnt make games for to switch either. Not with a 8m base. Its a smart move business wise.

Would you have done the same for the PS4 and Xbox One when they launched? Be honest.

That's dumb. Why not commit to it when the Switch is doing really well right now?

http://nintendoeverything.com/switch-version-only-accounted-for-1-of-the-physical-version-sales-of-fifa-18-in-the-uk/

If Switch owners are not going to buy their 3rd party games then thats not a great incentive for EA to make games for that platform, logical eh?

You've missed the fact that FIFA 18 on the Switch was sold out and people had trouble trying to get a copy. Don't forget that crucial piece of information.

Now that I read this thread through, it's time for me to make an actual not-joke post.

I wouldn't actually mind if they just kept the current engine for the Switch version going forward (provided that they fix the bugs), since I'd try to pick it up for half off anyway.
That's how I read their losses off the Switch version currently - make up for it by reusing the engine and as much of the assets as possible.

It's a shame that it didn't do too well, but that's what happens when you have a rather small install base coupled with mostly Nintendo fans that went out and bought the system. I still want to see the sales distribution for FIFA 18 in the long run, though. If that share of sales ticks up, then it may bode well for future entries to come along.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You dont need as much manpower for ps/xbox as for the switch. As a switch owner i want ea support but if i would be on ea's position, i wouldnt invest until a 20m base or at least a revision of the switch.
