But you don't see anybody in Congress using that as reason to not bother with obligating insurance and licenses.  With guns, Congress and the NRA claim that people will not follow the law so why bother.

To me it makes sense to have someone take a gun test like they do a driving test. I had gun safety when I was younger. Believe my license still says something on the back to that effect as well. Looked and it indeed says firearm certificate. (FYI, I own zero guns) Makes sense to have some sort of training before you are given somethign that could harm others. A driver test and its insurance is not for you, it is for others on the road.

But just like drivers tests and insurance, I don't beleive for a moment that this test would stop anything. People without licenses would still get themselves a gun, just as people have cars that aren't registered and they have licenses. A gun test doesn't magically guarantee that everyone with a gun has taken it. Hell everyone I know that owns a gun (hunters) has their firearm certificate like me. I'm gonna go on a limb and say most gun owners who commit crime/murder/ect do not have their certificate.

This Vegas guy was millionaire. It doesn' take a millionaire to get a gun from teh black market. Do you really think anything could have stopped him from getting these guns? If there were limits on type or quanity or anything, he woudl just no longer do it the legal way and go illegal.

The reason Congress doesn't say forget about vehicle regulations, is because not only would it make them look bad, like they don't care, but more importantly, all that gravy money is coming in, and they don't want to give that up.

The NRA see's the governments good intentions of enforcing vehicle regs to the best of their ability as time goes on, but they also see plenty of vehicle related injuries and death's, whether they be on purpose or an accident. What this leads to, is the NRA and guns owners end up saying to themselves, if that's the most likely outcome with guns as well, then screw giving a bunch of our money to the government for no reason.

Why doesn't the government just add more gun rules and regs regardless? Most likely because you don't want to push the gun owners over the edge, because they can easily defend themselves, using those guns. Another reason why it's important that the citizens have the right to bear arms and protect themselves, and not just physically.

Will do.  But I'm far more worried about white men with guns.

How do you react to this?

I react the same way as I do when GOP politicians claim religious texts when limiting female right, or when a large part of the US population would like a theocracy: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/danthropology/2015/10/44-percent-of-republicans-favor-a-christian-theocracy-according-to-a-new-survey/

The US already has an openly religious party in the GOP, that should scare anyone that oppose the idea of Sharia law.

Screw any scum who says Allah Huakbar and then goes on to kill people. You know what I hate the evil itslef but now that I think about it I have been taught to hate the evil act not the person behind it even if they are scum of the lowest order. I just want to know what train of thought the different psychopaths have and how they are brainwashed into killing themselves and others. They go farther away from God and Allah and are they just bored or something? Like in a war and poverty being brainwashed is understandable. But financially stable in a stable country and still like what happens. We have to understand the psyche no matter how much to stop it just like we understand diseases to stop them

On the other hand, I would be interested in a rollout of a mandate for all cars to contain technology which stops the car (or takes over control) if it deems that your driving is unsafe.

Yea, it would be nice but the technology isn't quite there yet.  We are almost there but still some kinks.  Although those systems could then be used against the driver such as hacking their car and taking over their steering and acceleration.  So there is always something...

A lot of it stems from situations back in the Middle East itself.  While they may be stable here, they may have lost entire families over there. I'm not condoning their actions but I realize how many young people over there have lost everything and everyone they've ever known and loved. It doesn't take much coaxing to get them to perpetrate vile actions in revenge at that point.

The guys ordering the attacks do it for power and political gain.  The guys carrying out the attacks do it for revenge.

I know the big guys do it for money or power. It's hard to imagine what stage a person reaches to become a slave to terrorism though. On the money and power matter isn't it always the case. Like atheists like to blame religion but when it boils down to it money power and greed are always the reason for these things if you get to the bare bones. They are then coated with muscles of religion faith and idealogies and the people only look at the skin not the core skeleton of the matter
