Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo says most people play Nintendo Switch in both modes (favoring undocked)

For me its probably
95% Handheld
5% Docked /TV mode

I’m about 30% docked and 70% handheld.

For Wii-style games are always docked, I take it work often, so local-multiplayer always in handheld or portable screen + dual joycons. Handheld always while commuting. I have already likely played Switch more than any other console in a 1 year period because of the many more opportunities to play.

I read a lot less now.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I use it 51/49 handheld to docked ratio. I sincerely believe everyone should try it in handheld mode at least once. My friend refused to do it until I asked him what he really had to lose and the next thing I know he is playing it between college classes and on work breaks. To play games like Zelda, Skyrim, and Mario at your true convenience is something I hope nobody misses out on.

I have to say, certain areas in SMO look pretty bad on my TV. Those same areas look fantastic in portable mode.

hmm for me it's 50% tabletop, 40% handheld and 10% docked.

Looks like I'm part of the 31%.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Due to the fact that I don't get out as much as I should, I do play mostly docked. Easier on the eyes too.

They should also asked... how much do you play switch when you poop.... that is a very relevant question in my opinion..

I'm the in-between. Although with a newborn baby, I've certainly been using handheld and tabletop more, and can't find the time to sit down and commit to a ps4 game because i know I'm going to be removed from my seat at any moment, which is obviously not an issue with switch. Love that feature so much right now.

I began playing a good amount in docked, but then I moved the dock to my nightstand next to my bed for convenience. Now I play exclusively in portable mode. I'm actually considering buying a 2nd dock so I can just go back and forth as I feel the need. Sometimes it may be better to use docked... though that is because of SMO where it really wants you to use separated joycons and I don't want to set it on a kickstand.
