Do they have any powerful G-20 nations backing them? In these scenarios have to have that to gain traction.

Tanks, Guardia Civil already seen on their way to Catalonia. The entire Catalonian parlement is going to prison. Bye bye independence, bye bye autonomy.

Hmm, unless this can somehow gain traction for a socialist movement in Spain, I don't really have any strong feelings either.

Scotland and Venezuela

The west is against. we'll see what the east says.

Hypocracy of the Western corporate tyranny playing out in plain sight now. How conveniently silent the EU has been on the awful violence and the whole situation. Whereas everyone is always so ready to condemn this kind of crackdowns in other regions of the world as "antidemocratic" and is calling for freedom. It's all about the money of course, and keeping power central.

As everything this comes down to money and not liberty or cultural independence or whatever they might try and say. Catalonia is one of the richest regions in an otherwise rather poor country of Spain. In Italy the two richest regions are also trying to gain more autonomy or break off with their own country.. Gladly leaving an entire countries economy in the shitter while laughing all the way to the bank.. I hope the Spanish government hits down hard on these destabilisers..

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""good guys in the east"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" nice one

All Spain had to do was make the referendum legal. But they knew the west would be with them, didn't want to risk a democratic defeat and made it illegal.
