I would hope this post is made in satire?

You know that the stereo types on either side of the argument which were being thrown about were just as bad as each other, neither side is as the opposition paints them to be.

That said... gamergate as a whole can be described as people getting value out of poor choices in degrees at college basically.

Of course.

The issue with those Gamergates, were that they were acting as though they were fighting some unimaginably large crusade against some unimaginably gigantic and terrible demon army. They kept trying to derail threads about gaming, spamming up youtube comment sections with their bullshit of stuff that didn't exist. The one thing they proved is how idiotic and whiney the scum at the bottom of gamer culture could be.

Well of course, that's the thing to remember in everything, there is always extremeists in every field, there will legitimately be some guy somewhere that feels sick when a female name passes by the credits roll of a game he enjoyed, because she isn't in the kitchen making him a sandwich etc.

There is also people who are on the wrong end of the other extreme, sickened by the thought that men exist and get paid for the work they do, looking down on Women who fit into a family role and raise and love their kids because they are under the patriarchy.

Thing to remember is those are just the extreme ends of the scale and every sane person knows those views are too far, but every sane person also needs to know that those are not the views shared by every member on both sides of an argument, it's perfectly fine to question the wage gap if it exists in the same field of work, it's equally perfectly fine to question why a female is being injected artifically into a project just to "balance the gender figures" both of those issues are worthy of discussion... just not in the caps ridden, youtube comments section methodology that some people think is best.

That's equal parts funny and sad to me, but not at all unexpected.

Meanwhile gamergaters are still in their mom basements behind their pc´s with 3 windows open, one for hentai porn, one for youtube antifeminism channels and another on 4chan.

The guy who wrote the article forgot about a particular neogaf moderator that was active as fuck "white knighting " , was arrest with the pc full of child porn images.

It was compiled by a woman. I'll send her a tweet to remind her of that Amir0x.

Edit: He is on the list actually.

I used to be against these guys until I realized that it was just another version of mind control. Of course they have the right to voice their opinion on anything really. Its almost like they triggered everyone. And for what? Its still about one group demonizing another group and putting them down. Then it became about bigots saying if you had an opinion that was counter to yours that it made you SJW. In the end, I realized that they are all the same. I see my friends now constantly telling me about what feminist are doing and who they are worst than hitler and I don't get it.
What I have learned is that hate is based on fear. And it can be used to control others. Trump does it all the time and it works to great effect.
But in short, I respect these guys and their opinion even though I don't agree. I will not be tricked , however, into hating them or being afraid of them. If you stand up for what you believe in, in doesn't make you a social justice warrior whatever the hell that means. If you take a subject like feminism and distort it into an attack against gamers, you are an idiot. Simple.

Agreed - pigeon holing entire groups that are mostly comprised of well meaning people who have real grievences - WHATEVER that group may be, is a recipee for disaster and doesn't help anyone. I tend to be anti-feminist (at least the modern iteration of it) as I've seen many of the very ugly, hateful, and hypocritical sides of it - though as the same time I realize there are plenty of reasonable and kind people within it who have genuine gripes and who am I to say they are wrong? The problem is that an extreme and vocal minority (whether it be feminism, Gamergaters, Bernie Bros, Trump supporters, whatever) that use these much larger platforms as a vehicle to spew their hatred and garbage, and unfortunately, whether by the media or gullible people who don't bother to do their own research, often fall for it and view the entire or vast majority of the group in that negative light. People need to start listening to one another more often, but I fear we are only going more in the opposite direction, which with the rise of the internet - and a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips - has always struck me as odd, though I suppose people get used to their own echochamber, which the internet helps streamline.

The whole gamergate thing was such a massive cesspool of idiocy on both sides of the argument that it's no surprise that nothing good ever came out of it. It's just amazing how in an argument that at least supposedly started about ethics in video game journalism became about two equally stupid groups of people trying to see who could yell at the other louder.

So that's why I don't know a goddamn thing about GamerGate. I thought it was about game journalism ethics, which I was on board with, but after that, I have no fucking clue what happened. Can someone explain it to me? I don't know which side I support.

Currently Watching: The Shield, Stein's;Gate, Narcos

Honestly... with all the gambling issues with lootboxes, rigged matchmaking and the push towards always online and no more single player games, this issue is petty. I don't give a s**t. This is not what we should be talking about.

NFL players kneel down during the anthem to raise awareness of racial injustice in the United States, Trump says they are kneeling down to show their disrespect for the flag and the country, eventually it gets forgotten what it all was about originally because the people in power did their best to change the subject to something else.

That's what went down with Gamergate. Don't ask me what it was originally about, the point is that things were intentionally made incredibly twisted and convoluted to distract from the real issue.

This is an incredibly insightful post coming from a Nintendo racist.

Heh, color me shocked. Between this and Hollyweird being turned upside down from the flood of sexual assault allegations against A-list actors and producers / directors, it's nice to see all these virtue-signaling hypocrites of the highest magnitude finally getting their comeuppance.

Today's rhetorical question: Why do movie moguls and video game journalists hate women???

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
