Forums - Gaming - A Capcom collapse question: In full or in parts?

With Capcom having a new failure on their hands on top of a lot of sales underwhelmings, thought I'd ask this question.

If Capcom does end up going under, would it be sold off in parts, or in full?

In parts as in 'Nintendo buys the Mega Man, Street Fighter, Okami, etc franchises, E.A gets Resident Evil and Dead Rising, Platinum gets Darkstalkers, etc etc?'

Or in full as in 'Company X gets everything Capcom has'.

Worth wondering how the internet would react if one of those buyers was a third party of poor repute (E.A), or Nintendo and thus placing the titles under an exclusive wall.

Makes you wonder if Nintendo did buy all of Capcom, would all Capcom titles be pulled from Steam, Playstation store, and Xbox Live, or would they stay but all future Capcom games end up on the Nintendo ecosystem?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Basically that cannot be predicted, you can only offer your hopes. THQ was planned to be sold as a whole, and although a solution was worked out, the investors voted against it and so it was sold off in parts. So you can't know until it's happened.

Or maybe they take all their IPs to the tomb. You never know.

I imagine that would be in parts. Capcom brand is worth enough to make the price for it be to much for the majority of publishers out there. But they can sell one or two ip's.

If someone buy capcom as a whole,it has to be nintendo, sony or microsoft. In that case,i'll hope for nintendo or sony to do it(i don't have a lot of respect for microsoft's way to treat studios).

Capcom won't go under. The Dark Arisen remaster and MH World will make them a ton of money. Not to mention MH XX on Switch is bound to sell 4 million units in Japan alone. RE7 makes money too.

Their fighting games though are in bad shape.

They won't go under. They will make paid exclusives to all those who pay for them to stay afloat. If that doesn't work, they can always bring a ton of collections and HD remasters. But if it's sold, I'd hope to its IPs being shared between other 3rd parties. It would be a shame they stop coming to one console or another due to exclusivity. We all deserve to enjoy the masterpiece that the Megaman Zero Collecion is.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Parts, please. I doubt there are any publishers that would actually take care of all the franchises that deserve it.

If they do. I'd see Disney would try going whole. Or go for certain IP's. To keep MVC going.

Finally, someone who can recognize the greatness of those games.

How crazy do you think Japanese Monster Hunter fans are? I'd be surprised to see it do 1 million in the long run.
