An estimated $81 million worldwide over its three-day opening.

That's down from the estimated $100 million opening it was supposed to have. It's up to Asia to save this movie now.

Still a huge jump from the 28m that the original did

According to IMDB it already opened in all markets incl. all European countries, Russia and China, only South Korea (12th) and Japan (27th) will follow later this month.

Adjusted for inflation, 28 million dollars would be closer to 70 million dollars in money today.

Yep, like 7. The latest version, The Final Cut (2007), is generally considered the definitive edition and the one the director had full control over. Highly recommend it.

Ah wow, that is indeed quite a few versions lol, the question is; is the final cut actually the final cut? The last Saw film was "The Final Chapter", yet here we are with Jigsaw releasing later this month, lol :P

I guess that's the version I'll look out for then, cheers for the info

I'm going to disagree.  I think the original theatrical cut is the one to watch.  Ridley Scott fucked up the later versions with his idea that the main character was a replicant.  This was not the intent of the writer of the movie, and Harrison Ford disagreed with it as well.  It makes the whole move make less sense.

Correction, IMDB is wrong. The movie hasn‘t opened in China yet:

“… Internationally, Blade Runner met overseas expectations, debuting with an estimated $50.2 million from 63 markets, 61% of its international footprint, capturing the #1 spot in 45 of those markets. The film's opening in the UK led the way with an estimated $8 million, on par with Interstellar and ~15% ahead of Mad Max: Fury Road. In Australia the film brought in an estimated $3.6 million, topping both Interstellar (9%) and Gravity (28%) and in Russia it finished with an estimated $4.9 million, on par with Mad Max: Fury Road. Additional openings include France ($3.6M), Germany ($3.3M), Spain ($2.6M), Italy ($2.5M), Brazil ($1.8M) and Mexico ($1.6M).

Blade Runner will open in South Korea next week followed by an October 27 opening in Japan and a November 10 opening in China."

Yass Europe did its work, the talent of Villeneuve seems to be more apreciated here, which is not strage since watching some of its first movies (like the magnificient Incendies) its obvious his cinema has more in comon with European cinema than with Hollywood.

October is a month that many Chinese film companies use to distribute their own movies. It would have been suicide for Blade Runner to open there in October.

I know it seems early... but I'm going to predict the movie is going to top out with somewhere around $350 million. That's just enough money for it to break even.

Whoa slow down there buddy.  Your listing too many gems.  I did like the movie where he went around with a baseball bat though.

Which movie was that? That sounds pretty funny.

Actually it is a fence post or something.
