Forums - Gaming - Report: Volition lays off over 30 developers in the wake of Agents of Mayhem's poor sales

Good. Less generic titles please. Hopefully Mr.Billion Dollar franchise is getting some layoffs too.

Thw was awful from the 2 hours I had with it. I hate overwatch style gameplay / class restrictions. Complete shite.

Saints Row and Red Faction G were great.

I was turned off from it after hearing about the map. I really would have been onboard with SR5. Not saying they would have been in a better position if they made it, but it damn sure would have been a better result than what they came up with.

Who could of seen this coming.

Good grief, they should've made SR5 with more humor. Layoff sucks...

I can't believe people thought this game's a 3rd person shooter Overwatch clone, just WOW!!!

So? That happens all the time, in any competitive market. It's not like I *wanted* them to lose their jobs but it's a consequence of a non-competitive product.

As the article mentions, jobs are often (almost always, AFAIK) cut after the release of a game. They don't need some of those people right now, so they let them go. I don't think it is safe to assume that this is directly related to poor sales of the game.
