Their source is actually official Nintendo NOA press release, everything what is in OP is official press release.

"Note to editors: Nintendo press materials are available at http://press.nintendo.com, a password-protected site. To obtain a login, please register on the site."

The very least they could have presented a screen shot of the press release, I tend not to believe everything I see on the internet. :P
But I digress.

I have signed up for the press.nintendo.com. So hopefully I can see for myself.

But what would be point of fake news where they say it's Nintendo official release!?

Here you have official Nintendo Japan Twitter also.

And so they reluctantly rake in a few more millions.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

As per my prediction... line by line!

Switch!!!

Meanwhile in the Scalpersville

Poor scalpers, no one will feel bad for them.

(...assuming Nintendo can actually do a good job of restocking.)

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

It's about time Nintendo clued in to the fact that scalpers and producers of knock-off consoles have made more off the NES Classic right now than Nintendo has. I still cannot believe they actually thought this thing wouldn't be popular. But even if they did get caught off guard, all they needed to do to quell a lot of that nonsense was announce with the NES Classic and now the SNES Classic that they would keep making them as long as there is a demand for it, and people would have waited to get one in stores instead of trying to buy one before the scalpers prices increased yet again.

Congrats Nintendo on at least showing some indication that you're aware of your colossal fuck up.

... I forgive Nintendo then

Smart move, I know many people couldn't get one first go around so plenty of money to be made on these.

They're just doing this to create more artificial demand!!!

The fools who paid $300 for a Classic NES Mini. Hehehehehehe...
