People are really optimistic here, predicting one million and more?

A game from 2011 released for an audience who isn't that interested in WRPGs. I think 500,000 would be extremely good sales.

My prediction is that the game will sell poorly at launch, but then jump considerabl once the price aligns with the other versions. At 30-40€ it could sell well enough.

Are we even sure Skyrim Switch will launch at full price? Xenoverse, Rayman, and Lego City are selling for less than 59.99.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Well, didn't the Remastered version launched at full price on PS4, XBOne and PC? I don't think they'd miss the oportunity to get the money from those early adopters. Also, does it even have a release daye other than "this year"?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

It can't be full price.

What's the default full price of a Switch game? 60 Dollars? Then they should release Skyrim for 40 Dollars tops.

I hope you're right, but I still think they will charge full price at release. Too tempting, considering Capcom got away with a SFII port for 40€.

They are probably expecting about a million plus. That is what Skyrim special edition did on the Xbox One retail according to this website.

Jim's comment about pasta sauces people wanted but didn't ask for comes up here if you ask me. When's the last time Nintendo had a WRPG worth buying (Mass Effect 3 perhaps in the midst of the collection being released elsewhere).

I mean who'd have thought Nintendo fans would like a shooter before Splatoon released?

I would say fans of Goldeneye 007 or Perfect Dark.

Yes, becaue none of the tens upon tens of millions of WRPG gamers have purchased a Switch.  And none of the 20+ million people who bought Skyrim the first time and might be interested in a nostalgic revisit on the go bought a Switch.  And surely none of those people who played Breath of the Wild and became infatuated with its open world fantasy setting could POSSIBLY be looking for another open world fantasy setting to sink their teeth into.

No.  Surely such things are beyond the realm of reality.

Honestly, 1 mil isn't even a bold lifetime target.  And worth pointing out the Switch JUST HIT the market and has yet to reach a sufficient size to be able to say, "yep, it's market has no interest in x, y, or z".  And given that the Switch is deliberately marketing at a more mainstream *gamer* demographic with hardcore gaming leanings, I would say it is extremely likely it will pick up a different audience than the Wii or Wii U on the whole.

I think it could do decently depending on when they release it since it is a portable version of Skyrim. A very beloved and popular game that is known for the huge amount of hours you can put into it.

I am not sure - it is a very old game by now.

1 mil if Switch will keep selling like crazy for the next 3 years!

Switch!!!

That's a good point to bring up. A lot of it will depend on price. Personally, I'm probably going to buy the game at 40 bucks, but not for 60.

I think it will sell around 01 million copies lifetime and Bethesda may feel ok with that.
