I doubt digital sales are much higher than 150k (PS4 + 3DS) however they should be high enough on the PS4 to push its first week above 1m. First home console game to do so since Final Fantasy XIII.

Why though?

If Famitsu numbers are any indication then digital sales on Nintendo devices are around 10% and on PS4 15-30%.

Combined digital numbers should be way above 300k.

On Amazon Japan though, the digital version of DQ XI 3DS largely outsells the PS4 version

Hold up! 89k for Switch ? that's amazing !

Damn, that is a mighty impressive hold for Switch and Splatoon 2 had a solid 2nd week withstanding the Quest of the Dragon, which had quiet the Quest indeed!

Glad Dragon Quest still can move the needle in Japan. This is the best week across platforms I've seen in a long time there.

That's too much for the kind of game DQXI is (singleplayer JRPG aimed at a casual audience). 10% is rare on the 3DS. It certainly isn't the average. The average is closer to 5% and I predict below that for DQXI. For example Yokai-Watch 3 had a digital ratio of like 2-3%, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 of 3-4% and Pokemon Sun/Moon of 2-3% according to Famitsu.

And same goes for the PS4 version although the average for the console is higher. I'm thinking below 10% for the PS4.

Switch is now only 3,400 units behind the 3DS with aligned launches at week 22!

EDIT: Did anyone else notice Nintendo owned 70.1% of the hardware market in Japan last week?

Double EDIT: Using the aligned launches from earlier, not only has Switch almost caught the 3DS, it has also sold more than double what the PS4 did in the same time frame. 1,286,300 vs. 634,225. Craziness!

Nice hold for Switch and Splatoon 2!

It seems like The 3DS version > PS4 despite the preorder rankings.

As expected.  What wasn't expected though was ps4 version selling so well when they announced the title.  People really doubted it and it's proved all the doubters wrong.  Fantastic to see.

Did...did the Switch just outsell Ps4 on DQ week..? Dayum. Ah, no. Ps4+pro is slightly above Switch.
Still, insane numbers for 3DS, Ps4 and Switch.

I'm surprised nintendo managed to keep Switch Stock this high. I was bracing for a big drop. Maybe next week?

Splatoon 2 held nicely too. DQ doing what it does in japan. nice to see the franchise healthy as ever.

laytons Mystery journey will hit 100k next week, wich makes me a happy bunny. :)

While it will certainly drop, what I see on Amazon Japan is that the supply is much better than before and in consequence the scalper prices are dropping fast

So maybe there is hope Ninty actually increased production. Lets hope for another 2 good weeks and then a nice 40-50k baseline.

Thanks to Hiska-san for the graph.  The ps4 victory lap now begins.  Bye bye ps3!
