I'll copy paste until you actually get it. It's not that hard. What you've been saying were nothing but assumptions and your opinions.
"Sony won't make product X, because Nintendo made prodyct Y so Sony should do it too, even though I have no idea how much the things I dream about cost", nor the fact that Sony's PS1 is mostly known for its 3rd party output unlike the Snes and has like 4 times as many games, nor the fact Sony would have an entirely different business strategy to go about if they explored going into the retro market and won't simply make a cheap toy console with a bunch of 3rd party games.

"this upscaler thing should cost a ton of money, it's a niche", or "why wud Sony update their already existing upscaler".

Literally everything you've said was irrelevant to the thread. A thread about what I want Sony to do to sell me a PS1 Classic. All this time you've been wasting my time trying to tell me I should not even want Sony to sell me what I hope for, congrats? Just because Nintendo did something, that should be the only way something should be done regardless of everything else, what a ridiculous premise to keep this pointless debate going.

Keep copying and pasting your incoherent, illogical, nonsensical arguments then. I can't "get" such obvious bullshit. You just keep arguing against things I've never said, accuse me of doing things I haven't done, or just flat out making up quotes that actually completely misrepresent what I actually said in a hyperbolic way using condescending language in an attempt to insult my intelligence. It's blatantly obvious at this point that you just have terrible reading comprehension skills, and have absoluely no interest in actually listening to anyone who doesn't agree with you fully.

You can't even figure out that I'm not even advocating that Sony should release a PS1 classic in any form.

LMAO "never said"! Dude, all you ever did in this thread was imply that Sony can't and won't do the console I propose because 1. it costs too much 2. there is no other way but the Nintendo way, while knowing zilch about actual costs and disregarding everything else.

I didn't actually imply anything about Sony (and possibly at all) in this entire thread. That appears to be yet another word you don't actually understand the meaning of.

Please, keep claiming I've made arguments I didn't actually make. Seriously, you might want to take a step back and think long and hard about working on those reading comprehension skills. This entire thread you've continued to eitther misunderstand or misinterpret what people are actually writing.

Again with the "I dindu nuttin!", just like you never made any assumptions itt.  If you didn't imply anything, the fuck are you arguing with me about then, do you even know what that means? You entered this thread doing nothing but that with your "it's a niche market that will likely make them a loss", you are only assuming it's a niche market, when it could just as well be a big market, you don't know anything. Don't start lying, all your posts are here. The only fact here is that you made a bunch of assumptions without knowing anything. Seriously, what are you even arguig about? Do you just have too much time on your hands that you decided to screw this simple thread with your pointless arguments?

Ohh I did plenty, I just didn't do what you said I did. And, considering you just used the word "imply" as if it in any way directly relates to an argument, it appears once again that you've demonstrated that you probably do not know what it means either.

Now you're going to start the accusations of lies? That's so sweet. By all means, keep embarassing yourself.

P.S. If you truly think it's equally as likely for the device you suggested to appeal to a niche market or a huge market then you've really said all you've needed to say for others to know just how seriously to take you and your opinions.

Lmao this dude, the quote I used comes directly from your post, the first of many assumptions itt by you, go read back instead of going "I didnt do that", it's pathetic. And again, what are you arguing about with me this entire time then? Serious, what was the point of your long winded posts with all the ridiculous claims? Do you just have too much time on your hands to turn this simple thread into shit with your pointless arguments?

It's pretty obvious what my argument has been this entire time. I've said it repeatedly. Somehow, you are having a hard time reading what I and others wrote and actually extracting the meaning of those words and undertstanding that text. It's as if you can't comprehend the notion that you're wrong so you perform these mental gynastics to skew these arguments into something they're not so you can dismiss them without consideration.

This whole thread can be summed up in a few bullet points

  • Turkish has a bad idea, decides to share it with the internet
  • The internet points out to Turkish that it is a bad idea and why
  • Turkish doesn't understand how it's not the best idea ever, and argues against points the internet didn't make, makes more claims to support his idea, even though he has absolutely no evidence to support them other than "Sony is an industry giant", and throws around buzz words he learned in high school economics class like "economies of scale" in order to try and assert his own credibility when all it really does it embarass him.
  • The internet points out the glaring holes in Turkish's arguments
  • Turkish keeps arguing against points the internet still hasn't made and keeps embarassing himself

Microsoft was more forward thinking with the Xbox than Sony was with the Playstation 4 when it came to the optical drives.
Ergo, the Xbox One supports CD's and the Playstation 4 doesn't, which means that the Playstation 4 cannot be backwards compatible with the Playstation 1's physical media.

Classic consoles seem to have a place, I mean... Nintendo has a decent backwards compatible library via it's digital stores on Wii, yet it's classic systems still sold like hotcakes.

Sony's lack of forward thinking on (ironically) backwards compatibility actually starts with the PS3 using the Cell, so it's not too surprising they would continue to ignore it.

And I thought it was a lack of software playback that prevented the use of audio CDs, not an actual lack of hardware ability?

Sony's consoles have all had very different architectures, so you could say that backwards compatibility hasn't really been a primary concern for them. From the PS4 onwards, though, it will be a different story because Sony will very likely stick to the x86-formula, having seen how well it has served them this gen in terms of easy development and porting and whatnot.

Anyways, I would say that creating new IP's and innovations is more forward thinking than concentrating on the past and I'd rather have Sony continue in that vein. Look at Microsoft, they have to make a point of offering BC, because they have little new to offer in terms of new, original IP's. That's just sad.

I don't really get these people who want to go back to their PS1 games. If they're so precious, just hold on to your original harware and enjoy. Myself, I didn't buy a new console to play 20 year old games, I bought it to play current games. But go figure.

Imagine how I feel as an Xbox owner. I get more old games than new games on a monthly basis (slightly exaggerating because right now it's all a joke).. Sony has the right idea. YOUre definitely correct that Sony is on pont with their ip developments.

So you agree your only purpose here was to shitpost and derail the thread. It's creepy how much you care about what I can propose Sony to sell me. It's not for you to decide whether the idea is good or bad. Certainly not someone like you who hasn't shown he has technical knowledge about these matters. For example, starting from your first claim, you can not claim the retro market is niche, what study did you do to come to that conclusion? You've only shown me that you have too much time on your hands that you rather spend on internet arguments.

I can sum this thread with only 1 sentence: Potato hamster gets triggered about OP's idea and bores OP to death with his long winded posts about how the idea is bad with assumptions that it's too costly for Sony and the Nintendo approach is the only way to go about it.

So basically, everything the Vita should have been, I get it...
